Diptyque makes for one of those perfect gifts to treat yourself whenever you need a mood-lifter especially this festive season when youve spent so much time gifting others. Treat yourself to one (or all) of their limited edition holiday candles.
The act of purchasing a luxury candle for yourself, unboxing it, lighting it for the first time and taking in the captivating scent whether you’re on the couch reading a good book, or trying to navigate your evenings after school pick-up's with the children running about whilst you’re preparing dinner (like me) make it a little bit more calmer (and elegant) when you’ve got your Diptyque candle lit.
If you haven’t already experienced these candles and are fans of Diptyque, or just a self-confessed luxury candle addict in general, allow me to introduce you to their three scents that they’ve released for this festive season. This year’s theme has been created around star constellations, and you’ll find that each of the designs have gold and white stars dotted around them. Every candle also comes with a gold lid which is perfect for when you’re not using the candle.
The three scents that Diptyque have come out with are: Sapin (pine tree), Neige (snow), and Etincelles (spark), available in 190g and 70g. Out of the three scents, Etincelles contains the divine rich and woody top notes; the type of scent that really makes you feel like you’re sitting by the fireplace. It has hints of coffee and chocolate and is perfect for those who prefer a scent with woodfire notes. Sapin is a more refreshing scent, with top notes of pine, and comes in deep green wax adorned with golden stars. Sapin is the complete opposite of Etincelles with olfactory notes of mimosa and mountain pines for that all around wintry feel!
Finally, there’s Neige, the more musky candle from the range and the perfect combination of cozy and refreshing. Unlike Sapin with its pine tree notes and Etincelles with its more woodfire notes, Neige feels like it sits in the middle - offering heliotrope and white musk. For those that prefer to have musk in their candles, Neige is one of those candles that embodies this characteristic. What I truly love about the range is that none are overpowering or underwhelming. The more you inhale them, the more wonderful they all smell. But more than that, these make the perfect gifts to treat yourself to this holiday season...because why not? They’re little luxuries that perfectly accommodate your self care ritual - and they’re great to display at home too.
Each year, Diptyque comes out with their holiday collection and this year’s limited collection is much more down to earth and festive, without being overpowering in scent. It takes you back to cosying on the couch in your most comfortable pyjamas with a hot drink in hand, and offers you that 5-minute break where you can experience a little luxury in the corner of your home. It’s a treat to yourself for doing a good job this year; a token of gratitude to yourself for getting through 2022.
