The Volkswagen Tayron Hybrid SUV delivers a luxurious, tranquil, comfortable ride accommodating up to seven people. Combine this with actual practicality and you get a fabulous family car. Jeremy Webb recently took the vehicle for a spin in the Lake District. Below, read his honest verdict…

I drove the VW Tayron R-Line Edition 1.5 TSI eHybrid laden with people, bags and our sprightly Spaniel. We headed north from Hampshire with 400 miles of bland, mainly motorway driving ahead, but the VW Tayron is perfect for this. The comfortable seating and decent entertainment system mean the miles and time pass quickly and safely, thanks to a vehicle packed with driving aids. The car really came to life...

BMW 530e Touring Plug-in Hybrid: Practically Perfect...

10th April 2026

The Autobahn-basher that is the BMW 530e Touring is engaging, efficient, and elegant. It tackles twisties like a train gliding across tracks and munches miles on motorways, offering versatility and practicality for all types of use. The BMW 530e is a plug-in Hybrid, and I drove the Touring version, an estate car that provides a platform for all transportation needs. During my week with the car, it comfortably carried my family and all their belongings across Europe. This was made infinitely easier thanks to the cavernous boot which can accommodate vast amounts of cargo. The boot’s volume can be increased by folding the rear seats, providing passengers with a carrying capacity akin to a van. An ideal option for road trips, trips to the tip, school runs, and family excursions involving lots of sports kit.

The Santa Fe Trail was a famed trade route that often saw traders and individuals from the USA's East Coast travel West in search of new beginnings, the promise of a piece of land, and better living conditions. The trail carved a path through the wilderness, connecting Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and New Mexico.

I have long waxed lyrical about my love of Cupra vehicles, and after a week of reviewing the Terramar, this obsession has been solidified. The Cupra Terramar is a small SUV, or, as most writers call it, compact. It’s sporty, luxurious, and easy to drive.

Honda Jazz Hybrid Review: An Economical Supermini That...

17th September 2025

Honda’s much-loved Jazz model has received a Hybrid upgrade. Blending petrol and electric power, the smooth transition enhances the Jazz's economy and peps up its performance. The Honda Jazz only comes with one engine, a 1.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid, that puts out 120bhp and has pretty rapid acceleration when put in sport mode. While the vehicle can’t travel a great distance on electric power alone, when linked to the petrol motor, there’s an efficient partnership. In urban environments, the vehicle will primarily run on electric power, unless you put your foot down enough for the petrol engine to kick in.  Despite competition from quite a few rivals in the mini sector, including Skoda’s Fabia, VW’s Polo, and Vauxhall's Corsa, the new Honda Jazz model excels with its comfort, interior space, and smooth ride.
