Day 1 - Arrival to Canvas & Orchids Retreat
The team will greet guests at Trat Airport (flights arriving from Bangkok) before making their way to the Cambodian border (approx. 1-hour drive).
Guests will switch cars at the border for another 30 minute drive to Tatai Village. From there, there is an embarking point which takes a further 30-minute boat ride to Canvas & Orchids.
Guests can unwind, swim or kayak on the calm Tatai River and prepare for a sumptuous dinner.
Day 2 - Early trek and sunset cruise
Following a quick, energizing early morning coffee, guests can grab their cameras as they venture into the rainforest, listening to its symphony on this Dawn Jungle Trek. Then, take a kayak upstream and hike through the lush jungle witnessing all the incredible flora and fauna that can be found there.
Nearer the top, a short break in a clearing to rest and enjoy the surroundings before returning to the lodge just in time for Breakfast.
During this very relaxing day at Canvas & Orchids, Lunch is served between noon and 3pm. Guests can have a one-hour traditional Khmer massage and enjoy reading a book amidst the sound of the surrounding forest.
Before dusk the team will prepare the boat for the Sunset Cruise on the Tatai River to admire Cambodia’s bold, bright, and colourful sunset. It is the perfect way to transition into evening and start your night with a spark of magic. Dinner is served upon return to Canvas & Orchids.
Day 3 - Waterfalls and fireflies
Enjoy a late breakfast before your departure to the Tatai Waterfalls Tour at 10 AM.
This enchanting journey is a 45-minute boat ride past the Tatai Village into the heart of the Cardamom rainforest accompanied by the far-off sounds of exotic birds and its secretive wildlife. Within minutes you are at journey’s end, gazing down into the turbulent waters of the waterfalls.
Soon it is time for lunch and this is the time where you may take a few moments for a natural hydro-massage and a refreshing drink as the team find some shade for a picnic lunch. They will also have some kayaks available to try out for some extra fun and adventure.
Just before dinner you'll glide into the night on boat to watch the show of the fireflies that illuminate the night on a nearby tree.
Day 4 - Mangroves and village tour
This is the day for cultural discoveries. Leaving after breakfast at around 9AM you will cruise deep into the mangroves to experience a rare glimpse of life among the fishing communities that live off the natural bounty of the Tatai River.
Lunch will be served on a river beach or on the boat, depending on the tides. After visiting the local pagoda, school and some villager’s homes, you will be back at Canvas & Orchids in time to have a rest and prepare for dinner.
Day 5 - Farewell
After Breakfast It is time for checkout; the team will assist in your departure for Trat Airport.
