The year got off to a stylish start last weekend as crowds of exceptionally well-dressed men and women embarked upon the capital for London Collections: Men.

The biannual fashion event, which showcases the most promising menswear designers from around the world, gives those who attend an exclusive preview of popular trends for the coming seasons.

Galliano’s triumphant return

The controversial designer John Galliano made his long-awaited fashion come back with a successful debut show as Creative Director for Maison Margiela.

Tom Ford embraces tech

For the first time ever, Tom Ford allowed guests at his presentation to take snaps of his collection using their own camera of choice – including smartphones. The previously more reclusive designer even stood models in front of a white studio-style backdrop to give the clothes their best advantage.

Public School won the Woolmark Prize

New York based fashion collective Public School scooped the International Woolmark Prize, becoming the first American brand to win the title.

Five designers from around the world created their AW15 collections from merino wool as part of the competition.

Trend watch: The return of the shearling jacket
