Key Considerations For Luxury Lingerie

If you're looking to invest in luxury lingerie it's worth having a few things on your radar. Key considerations include:

  • The fabric and material quality - look for natural fibres such as cotton, silk, cashmere, and linen. These ultimately last longer and are softer on the skin.

  • The fit - check to see if there are adjustable straps

  • Craftsmanship - it's all in the detail. Check for things like loose threads and stitching

  • Maintenance - does it require dry cleaning or hand washing?

  • Sustainability - look for brands that prioritise sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices

An array of luxurious labels can be purchased online. Stalwarts include the likes of Coco de Mer, Agent Provocateur, Intimissimi and La Perla, while newer brands include Dora Larsen, Fruity Booty and Ysé.

Cotton, satin, silk and lace are often used for a softer and more luxurious feel.

Ultimately it depends on each individual. Some garments, while beautiful, might not be practical enough for everyday wear. Nonetheless, there are plenty of lingerie items that look the part without scrimping on comfort.

Many brands offer bespoke services for an added dose of luxury. Tweaks include alternative colourways, size variations, alterations, and customised packaging.
