Now I am not going to lie, since Nadia came into my life I’ve actually started to believe that I won’t be living with neck and shoulder pain forever!

For the past few years I have had a tightening in my neck and pain in my shoulder which is often aggravated further by looking after the children (but I am a mum of two and as much as my GP says to rest and try not pick up the children, any busy mum will know that is just not possible). It was a breath of fresh air when I first met Nadia, where she practises in West London. Straight away she identified what was wrong and then she actually put her hands on me and got to work! Plus she didn’t try to tell me to stop doing things, rest or incorporate a list of exercising into my already busy day. (Ok there were a few at home exercises - but they were manageable).

Nadia Alibhai is a registered Osteopath, who graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. With over 18 years of experience, Nadia has helped thousands of patients, including many famous faces recover from a range of anatomical problems which stem from illness, poor posture, or an unhealthy lifestyle.

During my appointment Nadia obtained a comprehensive history including details of my lifestyle, diet and medication. She then observed and examined how my body moved through a focused physical examination. My treatment then included joint stretching, deep soft tissue techniques and manipulations. It’s not for everyone, but to me it was heaven! She knew exactly where my trigger points were and worked them hard.

After my 45 minute appointment, my spine was visibly straighter and I had much more movement in my neck, with much less pain. I was truly elated and wanted to take Nadia home with me! I also began to understand why anyone that had been treated by her magical hands referred to her as their ‘secret weapon to total well-being’.

As an Osteopath, Nadia recognises the importance of personalised care and is passionate about helping you understand your body - it wasn’t just my neck pain that she addressed, she also spoke to me about my body, my lifestyle and what I wanted to change. She suggested some supplements I should start taking to help balance my hormones and make those monthly cycles a little less horrid. Already I am noticing a difference.

Osteopathy, whether alone or in combination with massage, dry needling, good nutrition, relaxation, restorative stretching and strengthening, can bring you relief from pain and discomfort. It can treat numerous ailments without the need to resort to medication.

Nadia loves helping people and it’s refreshing to see just how much pleasure she gets out of making a difference. During our sessions she has shared some amazing stories of cases she has helped during her career and it has really opened my eyes to what is possible through osteopathy. I never knew the extent of osteopathy as a way of treating so many problems with the body.

I have been back to see Nadia a handful of times now and each time I look forward to our sessions, not only because we have a good chat but mostly because I walk out with so much movement in my neck. As well as osteopathy, Nadia can also provide acupuncture and reflexology to help with your ailments.
I would suggest anyone who is experiencing muscle pain and who has just learnt to live with it, to make an appointment with Nadia. You won’t regret it!
