Attention wine lovers! From 23-29 May 2016, bars, restaurants and pop ups all over London will be showcasing some of the rarest and finest wines the world can offer. There will be more than five hundred different types of the beloved grape nectar on offer through a range of unique tasting events. Luckily for you, we have compiled a list of the week’s five best and most exclusive events.
Bluebird in Bloom: McQueens Floral Masterclass & Rothschild Wine Dinner
One of LWW’s most intimate and exclusive events, Bluebird Restaurant in Chelsea is hosting a very special wine dinner in partnership with renowned florists McQueens and the superior Rothschild Collection fromWaddesdon Manor Wine Shop.
Featuring a Rothschild champagne reception with canapés by Bluebird. Following this, McQueens Florists founder, Kally Ellis, will lead an excellent floral masterclass, where guests will take home their own bouquet at the end of the workshop. A five-course floral-inspired tasting menu will then be served, curated by Bluebird Executive Head Chef, James Durrant. Each course will be perfectly paired with a superb selection of wines from Waddesdon Manor’s Wine Shop, specifically from the world-renowned Rothschild Collection. With guidance from wine experts Ben Furst and Andrew Napier, this is one event not to be missed!
If you like the sound of candle-lit suppers and boozy lunches where the wine flows like a fountain, you’ll love this. Dine in the exposed-brick Devonshire Square Warehouse Lofts, complete with long banquet tables and candelabras. London Wine Week has teamed up with Disappearing Dining Club to present delectable four-course tasting menus and top of the line wines.
With five decadent dining events to choose from this week, inspired by Alsace, Argentina, and Sicily, you will be truly spoilt for choice. A superior supply of wines to quaff will be available from Ferrari, Planeta Winery, Trimbach, and Trapiche. An event for both foodies and wine lovers alike.

A fantastic chance to arm yourself with the knowledge to be a savvy wine consumer in a warm and engaging bespoke evening at the Cordon Bleu. With the assistance of master sommelier, Matthieu Longuere, learn how to decode a wine label, sample different styles of wine, and what taste to expect just by looking at a bottle.
An excellent event for both novices and experts to fill their cellar before enjoying a range of canapés made by Le Cordon Bleu Master Chefs.

The Honest Grapes Wine Challenge
Experience being a wine buyer for the evening with Honest Grapes. The 2-hour tasting will give guests the chance to see how wines are selected by sampling at least 12 different types of wine that Honest Grapes are considering listing. Drink your way through a series of exciting challenges, sampling white Bordeaux and red Burgundy wines against those readily available in supermarkets. Determine the quality of these wines, their value and an insight into what people like to drink.

Taste the sunny Med this week, as the LWW hub hosts a selection of beautiful Portuguese wines at their Discovery Bar from Monday to Saturday. Pop down after work or for an al fresco session at lunch and try some of the fifteen reds and whites on offer.
Drink your way through Portugal’s various wine regions through five exclusively designed flights of wine, then pick your favourite and settle down to watch the sunset in their divine courtyard.
