A girl can’t have too much makeup. I am always looking to add to my collection; here’s a little selection of my new favourite brands...
Inika Organic
If you’re looking to go greener with your beauty regime, to ditch the chemicals, or are simply concerned about what’s in your products, then organic makeup should be on your radar. Inika Organic has won over 35 awards for product excellence and innovation across the world, even beating big name brands, so it’s definitely worth giving it a try. Inika Organic oozes luxury, the packaging is a beautiful matt black and gold and really won me over when I first saw it. The foundation is very light, which I love. The cream is much smoother than a standard liquid foundation and plumps skin as a primer while moisturising too, so there’s no need to layer heavy products on top of each other. Inika have an extensive product and colour range, which means that you will definitely be able to find something to match your skin tone. I find it pretty impossible to settle on a mascara which works for me, but this Bold Lash Vegan Mascara is quickly becoming my favourite as it’s buildable, which means you can layer coats for a more dramatic look.
Delfy Cosmetics is a beautiful collection of Cruelty-Free makeup and skincare. Founded by Mariam Meskheli, it combines high-quality formulations with innovative patented technology. The range includes lipsticks, lip glosses, lip pencils, mascaras, eyeliners, foundations, CC creams, nail polishes, nail care, skincare, face and body shimmers, fragrance mists and body care. What excites me most about this range is its fine felt tip eyeliner. I am a bit of an eyeliner queen and am always searching for the perfect pen. I love how thin this pen is; it’s so easy to apply and also once dry it will not smudge, making it ideal for daily use. The Waterproof Foundation is also pretty fabulous. It is a double wear, long-lasting and water-resistant foundation which provides natural and buildable coverage. It is available in seven shades, which means that, again, you’ll almost definitely find one that suits your skin tone.
For women who have to live with sensitive skin, the minerals revolution has been a godsend. On a mission to provide a range of modern makeup that is completely chemical-free, Jameela Kosar has found the solution with the creation of Bohemian Chic Minerals. Having tried an abundance of mainstream makeup which reacted to her sensitive skin, Jameela decided to create her own makeup brand. One that is suitable for the most sensitive of skins, without compromising on style. Bohemian Chic Minerals was born. Chemical-free, bad-minerals free and animals (including insects) free, Bohemian Chic Minerals is designed to make women feel beautiful in a guilt-free way. The collection is 100% pure and natural and is paving the way for a new generation of natural makeup, all available in a range of seasonal shades. I have really enjoyed discovering the matte mineral blusher, which is made of the purest and highest grade minerals. It created a smooth and soft texture and was surprisingly long-lasting.
Pure Anada is a beautiful line of natural cosmetics made in Canada. All of the products are free of artificial fragrances, colourants, and preservatives. Pure Anada has a wonderful story and mission behind it – by fulfilling philanthropic efforts such as “causemetics” to raise money for cancer awareness and supporting women & children, Pure Anada their commitment to goodness and nature through what they do. I recently started using their mascara and have been really impressed. I wanted a mascara which swept through my lashes and gave them length, but without looking clumpy. Plus, I much prefer using a cleanser with water to remove my makeup, so it’s important for me that the mascara I use is easily removed this way. Finally, I was impressed further by the packaging, which feels durable, sturdy and of good quality.
Diego Dalla Palma is a famous Italian makeup artist who launched his own cosmetic range in the late ’70s. After starting off as a professional line, it has slowly but surely evolved into a mainstream, high-end brand. Having never used the brand before I thought I would start with the full face palette. This practical and compact set contains six all-in-one powders that can be used to sculpt, correct and highlight the face and eyes. The comprehensive face palette features two contour shades, which can be used to define the face and eyes, and shimmering highlighter and blush tones, which can be used to illuminate - all with professional-looking results. And for those who need a little help with their makeup, it comes with a step-by-step guide and face chart to achieve natural or smokey makeup looks.
