Set in the historic Royal Exchange, the esteemed aesthetic doctor, Dr. David Jack’s new London outpost is as beautiful as you would expect….

Dr. David Jack, is a pioneering aesthetic doctor with clinics in both his native Scotland and London. Now he has opened his fourth clinic in Bank’s Royal Exchange, right in the heart of London’s financial district.

The new location is perfectly-located for busy city professionals, who can pop out to the chic clinic for swift tweakments or skin-boosting facials between meetings, fitting into their busy schedules. Anyone who has visited Dr Jack will know his precise eye extends beyond the face and is echoed in the interior design of his clinics. The state-of-the-art city outpost is peppered with tasteful artwork and intriguing objets.

I stopped by to try the new Pigmentation Facial, which makes the perfect antidote to sun-damaged post-summer skin. This 60-minute ritual tackles areas of hyperpigmentation, endeavouring to improve skin tone and texture through a combination of microneedling and mesotherapy.

The treatment starts with a double cleanse, utilising Dr Jack’s transformative skincare line. First up is the Supernova antioxidant-rich gel cleanser. Packed with skin-loving ingredients such as vitamin c, niacinamide and salicylic acid, it gently buffs away dead cells as it cleanses. Next is the latest launch: the Afterglow cleanser. This unctuous balm seamlessly melts into skin, and, laden with ceramides, leaves skin plump and juicy. Packed with rosemary, chamomile, bergamot, and orange, it adds a multisensorial dimension to the facial too.

Next Jenna, my aesthetician, looks at my skin under the microscope. Despite my religious application of SPF 50, and careful avoidance of the sun on a recent holiday to Mexico, her expert eye detects a smattering of freckles. We discuss my skin texture, sensitivity, and further treatments that would best suit my concerns. The facial continues with a light micro peel to break down the bonds between skin cells. A cocktail of acids can be combined, tailored to each individual’s skin — from lactic, and mandelic to salicylic. We opt for azelaic acid to ease my rosacea-prone complexion, soothe inflammation and smooth. The treatment continues with dermaplanning, a skin smoothing step to remove keratinised skin cells, blackheads and fine hairs, ensuring a smooth canvas ahead of the microneedling. This step ensures that the serum can be better absorbed into the skin.

A potent skin-boosting solution, NCTF is paired with the microneedling to hydrate and brighten tired visages. The mesotherapy cocktail is brimming with 60 different vitamins, minerals and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and minimise pigmentation. The procedure is ever-so-slightly uncomfortable as micro-channels are made in the skin to help stimulate collagen production — but it is well worth the results. The treatment concludes with an application of Dr Jack’s efficacious vitamin C serum, a stalwart in my skincare arsenal.

Post-treatment my skin is a little flushed, which quickly subsides throughout the evening, revealing taut, glowy skin by morning.

Clinic Address: 22 Royal Exchange. Threadneedle Street. London EC3V 3LP.

The Pigmentation Facial costs £450 for 60 minutes.
