Gielly Green brings together many nationalities and cultures and these diverse influences shape the styles, techniques and high quality service. This fusion of ideas and talent is accentuated by the accomplished team, many who have worked on the international stage and are known well beyond these shores. Once seated I was introduced to my two stylists. Shona Bainm, is one of the salon's signature colourists, who has 20 years of industry experience. She specialises in bespoke Balayage and free hand colour techniques. One look at my hair and she could tell I had been a little too experimental in lockdown and it was definitely going to take more than one visit to get the perfect colour and the one that best suits my skin tone. I was then introduced to Ava Holland, the salon’s artistic stylist. Ava has 16 years of industry experience, amassing and mastering an extensive portfolio of hair styling techniques. She specialises in artistic styling, haircuts, and blow dries and utilises her expertise to suit every client’s needs from everyday hair transformations to bridal hair makeovers. After having my colour taken off, I was treated to a lovely head massaged before my cut and blowdry.

Hand-crafted, luxury experiences curated by our team—speak to our concierge to learn more
Speak to Our ConciergeAn award-winning London hair and beauty salon, Gielly Green offers a haven of calm and indulgent luxury in the busy Marylebone streets.
It’s well-respected and trusted reputation has been fostered since first opening in the summer of 2008. Since then it has garnered glowing reviews in magazines like Tatler and Vogue, so I was very excited for my first visit.
It is situated in the golden triangle that encompasses (celebrity eatery) the Chiltern Firehouse, fashion designer Bella Freud’s hip shop and The Chiltern luxury development (where apartments sell for a cool £2 million per bedroom and David Bailey exhibits).
The salon’s founder Shai Greenberg leads a highly experienced team of stylists, colourists and beauty experts who work together to create an outstanding experience and exceptional level of service to clients, whatever their requirements may be. On arrival at the salon, I was greeted by a very friendly member of staff, who after taking my coat and scarf, gave me a thorough tour of the premises. I was surprised by the size of the salon once inside which is spread over three floors. It is elegantly decorated in browns, taupes and creams and there are super-comfy swivel chairs and recliners with squishy neck pillows to lie on when having a hair wash. There’s even a coffee bar downstairs.
This is a high class salon with a perfect balance of a relaxing atmosphere and experienced staff. I loved both my colour and cut and it’s definitely a salon I will be returning to once the world returns to normal.
