Tucked away in Zürich, Switzerland, Kusnacht Practice is a private treatment centre dedicated to mental health and addiction. Their goal isn't simply stabilisation, but meaningful and lasting change through individualised care.

At its core, the practice provides highly personalised programmes supported by multidisciplinary clinical expertise, intensive diagnostics, integrated medical care, privacy, hospitality and continuing care. Below, meet CEO Eduardo Greghi and founder of the BIO-R® Method and a member of the board of directors, Dr. Antoinette Sarasin Gianduzzo.

Several 'luxury rehabs' have cropped up over the years, what makes The Kusnacht Practice stand out?

Kusnacht Practice was founded on the conviction that no human difficulty exists in isolation. Addiction, depression, trauma and burnout are rarely discrete conditions; they are often expressions of complex lives shaped by biology, psychology, relationships, history and circumstance.

What sets Kusnacht Practice apart is our ability to combine rigorous psychiatric medicine with a deeply personalised therapeutic programme. Every client is approached as a unique individual rather than a diagnostic category, with their situation examined through the combined lenses of psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience, internal medicine, precision medicine and the BIO-R® (Biomolecular Restoration) Method. Our goal is not simply stabilisation, but meaningful and lasting change.

What is your overall ethos and approach to recovery?

Our ethos is simple: treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. We recognise that mental health challenges and addiction are often influenced by a combination of biological, psychological, emotional, and environmental factors. By combining clinical excellence with highly personalised care, we help clients achieve meaningful, lasting change rather than short-term symptom management.

Eduardo, how do you see Kusnacht Practice evolving in the next 5-10 years?

Over the next 5–10 years, I see The Kusnacht Practice continuing to set the global standard for highly personalised psychiatry, behavioural health, and integrative medical care.

We will further harness advances in clinical science, precision medicine, and technology to deliver increasingly individualised, evidence-based treatment while preserving the human connection that is fundamental to recovery. Our commitment to absolute confidentiality, clinical excellence, and client-centred care will remain unwavering, evolving into a true Family Office for health - a trusted long-term health partner for our clients and their families alongside international partnerships ensuring our clients receive the highest standard of care wherever they are in the world.

Aside from its stunning natural scenery, what makes Zurich a suitable spot for a treatment centre?

Our villas and treatment centre are located on Zurich’s renowned ‘Gold Coast’, nestled between the lake, forests, and surrounding farmland. Clients are immersed in nature while benefiting from complete privacy, discretion and security.

The setting offers a rare balance: the peace and tranquillity essential for recovery, combined with convenient access to Zurich’s city centre. It is a truly unique environment, designed to support healing, reflection and lasting transformation.

Once clients finish treatment, how do you ensure that they’re able to sustain recovery?

Over the past fifteen years, our understanding of sustainable recovery has evolved into a far more holistic and long-term perspective. We have learned that effective care must address the whole person - body, mind and soul while also taking into account family dynamics, professional environments, personal relationships, future aspirations, and any underlying trauma.

Earlier approaches often viewed treatment as a one-time intervention. Clinical experience has shown us that recovery is not a single event but an ongoing process that requires continuity, support and adaptation over time.

As clients begin to experience the benefits of this approach, many choose to maintain a long-term relationship with us that extends well beyond traditional treatment models. Through ongoing guidance and support, we help them sustain meaningful progress and continue building on the foundations established during treatment.

How do you make the experience for clients as personalised as possible?

Our clients may participate in six to eight one-to-one sessions each day with members of our multidisciplinary team of experts.

By removing the institutional environment typically associated with treatment, we create a setting where clients feel at home. This allows for greater openness, honesty and emotional access, enabling us to build deep relationships founded on trust, compassion, and understanding. It is within that space that meaningful and lasting change can occur.

We believe in humanising healthcare. Strategically, this means prioritising precision over efficiency and long-term outcomes over short-term reach. Our model is intentionally specialised, adaptable, and bespoke, allowing us to engage with complexity in a meaningful way and provide truly individualised care, one client at a time.

Dr. Antoinette, you’re the visionary behind Biomolecular Restoration (BIO-R®), what sort of therapies and treatments are incorporated into these BIO-R programmes?

The BIO-R® (Biomolecular Restoration) Method is a next-generation precision medicine approach that extends traditional medicine and psychiatry by integrating cutting-edge diagnostics, biomolecular science, and lifestyle architecture.

Following a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, our medical team designs a personalised residential programme based on the understanding that brain health and mental wellbeing are closely connected to the healthy functioning of the entire body.

Programmes may include:

  • Medical Therapy Sessions including specific behaviour change/new habit building/Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Specialist

  • Targeted Neuromodulation (Biofeedback, Neurofeedback)

  • Complementary therapies from Somatic Experiencing-Hypnotherapy- PT-Body Balancing-Yoga-Mindfulness-Breathwork

  • Personalised diet prepared by own BIO-R chef in private villa focusing on brain health (Anti-Inflammatory Brain Health Diet)

  • Tailored supplementation and infusion protocol

  • Therapies based on Hormesis Principle:

    • Biological phenomenon where low dose of a stressor produces a beneficial, adaptive response. Ex. cold or heat exposure, intermittent fasting, IHHT

    • HBOT/IHHT: increased oxygenation of the brain, less inflammation, booster for mitochondria and cellular energy production

  • Continuing Care/Digital Monitoring

    • Integration of new lifestyle, highly personalised, less is more for successful behaviour change: Sleep, stress management, breath work (HRV)

Every programme is tailored to the individual, with the aim of supporting sustainable physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing.

When it comes to longevity, is there a single area, such as diet, that has the greatest impact?

At Kusnacht Practice, we focus on treating the whole person rather than a single diagnosis or isolated aspect of health. While longevity has become a widely used term, we prefer to speak about healthy ageing and supporting both physical and mental wellbeing over the long term.

We view biology, psychology, relationships, lifestyle, trauma and environment as interconnected factors that influence health outcomes. Rather than focusing on one intervention alone, meaningful and lasting change typically comes from a combination of therapies, behavioural changes, nutrition, movement, and other lifestyle strategies tailored to the individual.

It is this integrated approach that creates the strongest foundation for long-term vitality and wellbeing.

Would you say that in 2026, vitality and longevity have become the ultimate status symbols?

There is certainly a growing awareness around the importance of maintaining health, vitality and wellbeing. While we do not typically frame our work through the lens of longevity alone, we are seeing a clear shift in how people view their health.

Today, committing to positive health habits whether through thoughtful nutrition, regular exercise, preventative health assessments, or proactive self-care has become part of how many people define themselves. Increasingly, people aspire to be associated with vitality, energy, resilience, and overall wellbeing, recognising these qualities as essential to both personal and professional success.

Some of your clients are in the public eye - how do you go about creating an environment where they’re able to drop their guard and feel safe?

A protected environment allows individuals to step away from their public identity. Without the pressure to perform, manage perceptions, or maintain a particular role, defensive behaviours naturally begin to soften.

This creates the conditions for greater honesty, vulnerability, and emotional access all of which are essential for meaningful therapeutic work. In that sense, privacy and protection are not simply comforts; they become catalysts for deeper healing and lasting transformation.
