If you’ve not experienced TOKii yet… it should definitely be on your radar now.

Nestled in the 5 star luxury hotel The Prince Akatoki in Marylebone, TOKii brings an entirely new elevated dining experience. This Japanese inspired cuisine restaurant offers the finest quality fresh seafood, sushi, sashimi and meat cooked on the Robata Grill.

Without a shadow of a doubt, TOKii is a place that exudes luxury and elegance and is one of London’s best kept secrets.

Upon entering the restaurant you can instantly feel the delicacy of Japanese hospitality and the attention to every single detail that brings. Wooden tables, an abundance of beautiful candles and dim lights created a warm atmosphere that invited us to sit down and stay the night. We were welcomed into the restaurant by a very friendly waitress, Martina, who made sure everything was perfect throughout our whole dining experience.

TOKii looks as stunning as is its menu. We took our seats and started our dinner with some bites, recommended by the waitress: Lotus crips, Buttermilk Fried Chicken with a succulent gochujang mayo, an outstanding Beef Fillet tataki accompanied by a red onion salsa, ponzu and garlic crisps and Lobster croquettes. We can’t recommend the starters enough.. Every single dish was simply stunning, but the Beef Fillet Tataki was the one we enjoyed the most. The texture of the meat was impeccable and the smoky touch accompanied by the onion salsa was one of the highlights of the night.

At TOKii, everything is about quality. The seafood feast arrived afterwards - a magnificent Tuna Tartar with cucumber, avocado, miso and lotus chips was as impressive as the Beef Fillet. A fresh and delicate flavoured tuna mixed with the crunchiness of the crips was an unexpected fusion that left us wanting more.

The flavour explosions kept coming to us with a premium selection of sushi, sashimi, nigiris and temakis, each piece really fresh and such a joy to eat, we could easily indulge ourselves into thousands of pieces and not get full enough. Delicious!

And then.. the King of Kings, the winner of the night arrived: The Miso Glazed Black Cod with sweetcorn fried rice. If you are lucky enough to come to TOkii, you should not leave without trying this fantastic dish. The cod was beautifully cooked, the finishing touch of the grill accompanied by the sweetness of the miso was pure glory at its finest.

What we loved most about TOKii, apart from the food, was the impeccable service. Everything was brought to our table in a matter of seconds and really taken care of every single detail. Spot on.

Even though we couldn't eat much more, our loveliest waitress, Martina, insisted on trying their delicious and signature dish, their Hot Stone Wagyu beef and was undoubtedly 10/10.

We finished our dinner with two heavenly desserts, a delicious Vanilla Cheesecake with strawberries and sancho pepper, really soft and light and a Yuzu and Raspberry posset with a pistachio shortbread. The perfect sweet touch for a lovely night.

I doubt this review will leave you unsure of how we feel about the food, atmosphere and service at TOKii. For us, it was an unexpected revelation.
