Hitting the Right Note
Founded by Thibaud Crivelli, perfume house Maison Crivelli has launched two of its best-selling extrait de parfums in a new 100ml format. Their Cuir Infrarouge blend is particularly addictive, combining tart raspberry notes with bergamot, cinnamon, cedarwood, orris, leather, oud, patchouli, and vanilla. Gourmand notes aside, this concoction's longevity is seriously impressive. It lingers on the skin long after the initial spritz and provides a cocoon of warmth that's hard to resist. £360 for 100ml.
From 1 March, burger restaurant Heard will launch its first-ever guest chef collaboration with Aji Akokomi of Michelin-starred Akoko. The pair have put together a limited-edition menu at Heard’s Borough and Soho restaurants spotlighting West African flavours. Key dishes include the Akoko burger with tamarind jam, fiery sosu kaani purée, yassa-spiced caramelised onions, and melted hard goat’s cheese, and the Kelewele Fries dusted with a savoury kelewele salt and crispy shallot crumb.
Haymarket Hotel in London’s West End is offering a London Calling-themed afternoon tea inspired by the capital. Highlights include a selection of savoury delicacies and artfully crafted pastries inspired by some of London's most iconic landmarks. The cherry on top? On Mother’s Day, mothers will receive a Shop Kit Kemp gift to take home. Sunday 15 March, from 12pm - 4.45pm. £50 per person / £62 per person with a glass of Langham Estate 'Culver Classic Cuvée' or 'London Buzz' cocktail.
Designer clothing brand JOSEPH has taken over How Matcha!’s Marylebone outpost until 6 March. As part of the partnership, the cafe has introduced eye-catching branded cups and transformed the cafe's awning to incorporate JOSEPH’s black and white stripes. Exclusive flavours with names inspired by Morocco will reign supreme on the menu, including The Atlas, The Larouse, and The Bahia, which combines sweet agave with carob, turmeric-infused milk, and roasted hojicha. What’s more, JOSEPH customers presenting a proof of purchase throughout the duration, can claim a free hot or iced matcha drink.
Wondrous Waffles
Hotspot Duck & Waffle is gearing up to launch a dedicated menu to celebrate international waffle day. From 23-27 March, the restaurant will offer an array of special dishes with a British takeaway twist. The savoury menu includes the Waffle Pizza, the Doner Kebab, and the DWFC. The sweet menu, meanwhile, features the Naughty Cookie, the Banana Fritter, and the Cheesecake Waffle.
To mark International Women’s Day, five award-winning international female chefs - Adriana Cavita, Maria Bradford, Ayesha Kalaji, Keshia Sakarah and Sabrina Gidda - will come together for a special charity lunch. Taking place at Cavita in Marylebone on Sunday 8 March, the lunch will see each chef create a course inspired by their global heritage. Tickets for the five-course meal are £120, and include a welcome drink, a live Q&A session, and a donation to Refuge.
Michelin-starred Indian restaurant Trishna has launched a seasonal menu - Aamchi Mumbai - that takes guests on a culinary journey through the metropolis of Mumbai. In tribute to the city’s diverse food culture and multicultural communities, the menu offers street-food classics such as Makai Matar Tikki Chaat and ‘Chowpatty’ Vada Pao alongside coastal classics including Malwani Prawn Curry. Lunch and evening menus are available (three courses for £50, and four courses for £55).
Mancunians rejoice! On 30 March, Manchester will welcome its first branch of Sticks’n’Sushi in Spinninfields. Guests can expect to feast on sushi, grilled sticks, and delectable sharing menus including the As Good As It Gets, Set For Success, and Greenkeeper. The drinks menu, meanwhile, features sake, Japanese teas, and whimsical cocktails such as the Matcha & Yuzu Spritz. A real feast.
Until 29 March, cult favourite Pizza Pilgrims is bringing a slice of La Dolce Vita to the UK with their limited-edition cheese fondue pizza. Taking inspiration from hearty Alpine cuisine, La Fonduta is topped with melted Fontina DOP cheese, fior di latte mozzarella, herby roasted potatoes, and a drizzle of rosemary vinaigrette. To elevate the experience, Pizza Pilgrims have also whipped up the Bombardino shot - a velvety cocktail of Warninks Advocaat liqueur and whipped cream. For an extra dose of joy, La Fonduta will be available at half price if it snows in the UK between now and 28 March!
