ESPA has always been one of my favourite spa experiences, so when booking a weekend treat away for my mum I chose the five star luxury spa hotel, Luton Hoo Hotel, that houses it’s own beautiful ESPA spa (in Grade II* listed stables!). Thirty years ago, ESPA pioneered their vision of wellbeing and aromatherapy, and with these invaluable years of expertise and powerful heritage they have continued to develop their vision of holistic wellbeing.
After checking in we made our way to the spa & were given fluffy robes and slippers to change into while relaxing around the 18 metre infinity pool. The quiet spa also includes a vitality pool, steam room, sauna and solarium and is a perfect place to chill and unwind. For those who plan to spend a whole day at the spa, there is a brasserie at the stables where you can head in your robe and enjoy a lovely lunch and glass of fizz.
After just simply relaxing the afternoon away, we made our way upstairs to the ESPA relaxation room and treatment rooms where we were both booked to have the ESPA 80 minute signature massage. The treatment uses ESPA products which combine aromatherapy, plant and marine extracts and are 99-100% natural with no chemicals or parabens. There are a wide range of products, so there's something to suit each skin type, condition or concern. I was met by my therapist in the relaxation reception and taken to my treatment room. The room had been prepared with delicate low lighting and soft music and was perfectly warm. After a quick consultation my therapist personalised the treatment for me and worked mainly on my back, neck and shoulders where I have been having some pain. ESPA is guided by a holistic philosophy, caring for your whole wellbeing and focuses on creating natural skincare products that deliver both instant benefits and also work beneath the skin's surface to protect the long term health and beauty of the skin. The massage was heavenly and my muscles felt less stiff. Feeling super chilled I took myself to the relaxation room where I enjoyed a selection of warm herbal teas.
Having spent most of the day recharging, it was time to head up to the main house and get ready for dinner. We had the most relaxing day, which once again confirmed my love of ESPA.
