As the Salon Privé Concours arrives at Oxfordshires Blenheim Palace for the 17th year, we round up the key cars to look out for, from Aston Martin to Bentley.
Calling all self-confessed petrol heads. The hot ticket of the automotive calendar, the Salon Privé Concours, has arrived at the historic Blenheim Palace once again to showcase icons and innovation alike.
The Highlights So Far
Opening the world-class four-day event with a bang, the Aston Martin DB12 Volante made its European debut yesterday — a worthy headline act. As the week progresses, the luxury British car manufacturer has plenty more in store. Thrillseekers will delight in the sleek new V12 Vantage, speedier than ever before. To mark Aston Martin’s 110th anniversary, visitors will be treated to a retrospective of heritage models including the 1920s Bamford & Martin, 1936 ‘Red Dragon’ Speed, 1958 DB5 Goldfinger and the iconic 2014 One-77. Keen for a spin? There is also the opportunity to test drive the acclaimed new DBX707 SUV.
Another first day highlight was the world premier of Electrogenic’s latest bespoke electric car — a modified 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom II demonstrating the collision of heritage and innovation. Electrogenic director Steve Drummond called Salon Privé “the perfect place to reveal such a stately piece of British motoring history – now fully updated and future-proofed for the next hundred years of clean, silent electric motoring.”
The Clive Sutton Shelby Cobra CSX10000 adds to the impressive list of world debuts at Salon Privé 2023: the first ready-to-go UK turn-key Shelby Cobra crafted in almost 60 years. The UK is the first global market to receive the car, and the impressive Blenheim Palace makes a perfect destination to showcase the model.
What's Coming Up?
Visitors, from guests VIPs to car enthusiasts, will be able to admire 70 of the most celebrated cars on display for the duration of the event, from vintage classics to supercars such as the Bentley Bentayga EWB Azure, Ferrari Purosangue and Lamborghini Revuelto. So much more than a luxury car show the Salon Privé luxury retail village offers a chance to peruse the finest luxury fashion, jewellery, antiques and arts, whilst sipping on chilled glasses of Pommery champagne — of course.
Whilst this exclusive event is very much underway there’s still time to snap up a limited number of tickets to Salon Privé Supercar Saturday and Club Trophy presented by Lockton, taking place this Saturday 2nd September. Tickets can be purchased here.
Taking over the illustrious Old Doha Port from 6-9 November 2024, the inaugural edition of The Qatar Boat Show promises to be an extravagant showcase of maritime excellence and groundbreaking technological innovation.
