Mothers Day is fast approaching and we believe there is no better way to celebrate than with a long, delicious brunch.
There are few people on earth more special than our mothers. In the leadup to Mother's Day, you might be thinking of where best to celebrate in London's expansive dining scene.
Below, The Sybarite has compiled a list of treasured brunch spots for a morning-into-afternoon celebration with scrambled eggs and mimosas aplenty.
EVE, Kensington
If the decor alone isn't enough to have you making a reservation, the brunch menu at Eve will quickly convert you. From 11am-4pm every Saturday and Sunday, the venue offers a three-course menu, alongside live music and an unlimited cocktail package...what's not to love?
As the newest sister venue to its Southwark outpost, The Table in Battersea offers the best of a tried-and-tested brunch menu adored by many. Think light, fluffy waffles and full English' bursting with all the trimmings. Follow this with a walk around Battersea Park and mum will be one happy lady.
As the name suggests, The Ivy boasts sweeping views of London's iconic Tower Bridge, making it the perfect backdrop for a special occasion. The restaurant is hosting a dedicated Mother's Day Brunch offering from March 6-12, with the choice of two-courses for £27.50 or three for £32.50. Options skew more savoury, with the likes of salt and pepper squid tempura, cheese soufflé and a sirloin steak on offer.
With its dimly lit interiors and sophisticated ambience, Isabel is a wonderful setting for the glamorous mums. Brunch is served exclusively on Sundays from noon until 4pm with the option to upgrade to a Champagne brunch. An extra £120 will see you enjoying a serving of Imperial Oscietra Caviar further to heighten your dining experience.
With its heigh glass ceilings and wraparound balcony, entering NoMad feels like you are stepping outside of London. Saturday breakfast sees a selection of sweet and savoury options including lemon poppy pancakes and avocado toast — fresh and delicious.
Opposite Clapham Common in London's South is a bustling neighbourhood restaurant called Minnow, which has long been a local favourite. A weekend brunch menu contains all of the usual suspects, from creamy bircher muesli topped with apples and cranberries, to eggs benedict and smashed avocado on sourdough. The marmalade margarita is also a must-try, if mum is a tequila fan.
Taking rustic-chic to new heights in a charming outdoor garden setting, The Buttery is a wonderful spot in warmer weather. As a self-described 'taste of the country in town,' an extensive, laidback brunch menu contains vegetable-lead dishes like smoked roasted aubuergine and shakshuka, with equally impressive meat dishes such as kimchi fried chicken and prawn toast. Sweet tooths should be notified that the Greek-style orange cake is an unmissable dessert.
Farm Girl is a name that needs no introduction in the brunch world, having long been lauded for its colourful drinks menu and all-day brunch offering. The super latte and iced drink selection sees an innovative range of options burst to life, from the purple butterfly matcha to the ice liquid gold latte. The founder is Australian, meaning brunch is in her bones; as such, the food menu contains healthy dishes like the smoked salmon scramble and green Turkish eggs.
As a highly-esteemed London institution, The Ritz is a traditional breakfast offering which is guaranteed to wow mum on her special day. There are various packages to choose from, beginning with the continental (fruits, cereals and yoghurts) to the English (hot options including eggs, bacon and omelettes). Diners can also upgrade to the 'Prestige' package which includes accompaniments such as Platinum Sturgeon Caviar and Périgord Truffle.
With countless varieties of pancakes and toppings and a cocktail menu fit for even the fussiest of the family, you are set to have a good time in this exciting eatery located in Flat Iron Square, just a stone's throw from Borough Market.
If your family celebrate Mother’s Day by all gathering and eating together, one of the best locations for this is Oslo, in Hackney. A true tried and tested Sybarite favourite, the long benches are perfect for the entire family, and whilst the brunch menu is limited, but will appease any foodie, from savoury lovers to sweet-fanatics.
Dalloway Terrace is famous for being one of London’s best brunch spots, so head down there on Mother’s Day and feast on a variety of dishes suitable for the whole family. If your family can happily share a sharing plate without arguments of who’s eaten the most, then we recommend the Burrata and Roasted Cherry Vine Tomatoes. Failing that, eggs benedict will always be a classic brunch dish and guaranteed winner.
Looking for a venue that delivers style, ambience and the perfect Mother’s Day Insta-post? Mayfair’s Sketch is a feast for the senses and a destination for food, art and loud interiors. Between the Parlour waiters dressed head-to-toe in pink (not forgetting the top hat) and bathrooms home to a nest of eggs - things are not always what they seem... Surprise Mum with a champagne afternoon tea at the Sketch Parlour £80pp (which includes a glass of champagne, and a surprise gift for the mothers), or enjoy brunch and cocktails in The Glade Room. Serving up delightful brunch classics alongside a list of cocktails from Bloody Mary’s to spritz and bubbles. The Glade definitely makes for a memorable Mother’s Day, with grass underfoot and romantic furnishings, this stunning setting is like something from a scene in Shakespeare’s - A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Whisky and chocolate are a perfect pairing, and I love both, so I was delighted when House of Hazelwood invited me to try some of their rarest whiskies with some delicious mouthwatering chocolate.
St. Patricks Day in London is a vibrant celebration of Irish culture, music, and, of course, some of the finest pints of Guinness youll find outside of Dublin.
