The Experience
Your stay starts with luxurious accommodations on the other side of the island, offering a choice between a high-end hotel or a private yacht anchored near the charming village by the plantation. With only four participants per trip, this experience is tailored to be personal and immersive, allowing you to feel like a welcomed guest in the local community rather than just a tourist.
Throughout your stay, your hosts will personally guide you through an immersive experience centered on cacao production and local culture. Over four days, you'll engage in various activities that showcase the dedication of Fijians as they harvest cacao, extract fresh beans, and manage fermentation and drying processes. You'll also explore vanilla orchid plantations and meet the women who transform these delicate flowers into flavorful vanilla pods.
Each day brings new adventures and deeper insights into Fijian life. Begin your mornings hiking through dense rainforests with local villagers, armed with a machete to navigate the jungle. After an invigorating trek, cool off in secluded waterfalls with crystal-clear pools formed by ancient lava flows—a true communion with nature.
In the afternoons, participate in hands-on activities with locals, learning to harvest vanilla or preparing "lovo," a traditional Fijian feast cooked underground. Enjoy freshly caught seafood grilled on the beach, enhanced by the sea breeze and the soothing sound of waves.
Evenings offer cultural exchanges and relaxation. Join in traditional singing and dancing, or unwind with a Fijian massage that draws on generations of techniques. For those curious about natural remedies, meet the village’s bush lady to learn about the medicinal plants that have supported these communities for centuries.
To capture your journey without disrupting the experience, acclaimed photographer Sune Rasborg and skilled videographer Kennie Ørsted will document your adventure, leaving you with a professionally produced film to relive and share your memories.
The final itinerary will be tailored to the unpredictable Fijian climate, ensuring every moment is optimized for your experience. This isn’t just a tourist outing; it’s a chance to connect with a way of life that few get to witness.
As a guest, you’re welcome to extend your stay and explore more of Fiji, maximizing your visit to this extraordinary destination.
