Despite the many talented pastry chefs that call Paris home, the queues at Yann Couvreur’s Goncourt district patisserie are a testament to the young man’s ability to create delicious, one-of-a-kind pastries. Couvreur’s passion for baking began as early as high school, and he has since worked in legendary kitchens in Paris and St. Barths.

For one week only, Londoners will be able to taste Couvreur’s famous Paris-Brest—made with choux pastry and praline cream—and the chocolate tonka bean éclair as the pastry chef takes over the pastry kitchen of iconic Mayfair hotel Claridge’s.

“What an absolute honour to be asked to put my twist on the menus of such an iconic institution. I’m excited to bring a little bit of Paris to London, if only for a week,” says Couvreur. Guests can enjoy his new “Elevenses” menu from the 4th-11th of September from 11 am to 12 pm in the Foyer and Reading Room. Couvreur’s influence will also be seen and tasted by those partaking in Claridge’s spectacular Afternoon Tea (2:45-5:30 pm) as he brings some favourites, as well as two specially crafted pastries for Claridge’s, to the menu.

Yann Couvreur’s weeklong residency at Claridge’s runs from 4th-11th September.  His new London store and patisserie will open in Mayfair at the end of the year.
