The ultimate event in the luxury drinks calendar, the annual auction of fine and rare cognac will be held in France on the banks of the Charente. However, for the first time, the auction will be open to bids not just from Sybarites who are able to attend the auction in person, but to bidders from around the world online.
Standouts from the catalogue include Cuvée François Rabelais N° 592 from Frapin - expect Grande Champagne eaux de vie presented in a pocket watch decanter made from gold and pewter - and a 100-year-old vintage bottle from Hine, which is encased in a special box commissioned from the artist James Viscardi.
In total 24 cognac houses have donated carafes, blends and objects d’art to the sale.
The auction - the ultimate event in the luxury drinks calendar - is being organised by the by the Interprofession du Cognac (the National Cognac Board) in association with Artcurial, with all proceeds going to Apprentis d’Auteuil - a local charity that that provides professional training, education and emotional support to disadvantaged young people.
Sybarites interested in taking part in the online auction, should register with Artcurial at least two days in advance.
