So, skip the cheap stuff and follow this guide as we provide a list of the best spirits and sparkling wines to gift to the ones you love this year.

Maison Bruno Paillard Blanc de Blancs Reserve Privée Grand Cru MV

Maison Bruno Paillard is a boutique, family-run Champagne House located in the heart of the region. Specialising in the most elegant, complex of Champagnes; Maison Bruno Paillard is Champagne for Champagne lovers. We recommend the Maison’s Blancs de Blancs Reserve Privée Grand Cru MV for the ultimate festive gift! Comprised of pressed Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes exclusively from the Côtes de Blancs, the chardonnay certainly has a delicate finesse - silky with a creamy finish. This pairs particularly well with seafood, such as oysters, sushi and smoked salmon, so think about gifting this to your friend who loves the sea!

Kubota Seppou Black Yamahai Junmai Daiginjo Sake

This limited-edition sake is perfect for any non-traditional drink lover you may know! A unique collaboration between two Niigata-based brands; the refreshing sake has notes of melon, steamed rice, yuzu sourness, wildflowers and sweet grapes. Designed to be enjoyed in the great outdoors, this sake pairs perfectly with foraged foods, picnics, BBQs and sushi & sashimi eaten on the go. The Kubota Sake is a distinctive gift for a distinctive individual!

G'Vine Floraison Gin

From Maison Villevert, G'Vine is a French gin crafted from grapes rather than the typical rye or barley. Elegant, smooth and floral, G’Vine is a luxury gin that is combined with the traditional juniper berry and 8 other botanicals to create a well-balanced, full bodied and soft gin. Deliciously refreshing and appreciated by gin lovers and non gin-drinkers alike, this is the perfect, unique bottle of gin to gift a loved one this Christmas!

Fifty One Degrees North, Twenty Fourteen

Gusbourne Estate's Fifty One Degree's North is the most expensive sparkling wine in the UK, priced at £195 per bottle. The 2014 vintage was produced in Gusbourne’s vineyards in Kent and West Sussex; a blend of two-thirds Chardonnay and one-third Pinot Noir, and was aged 80 months. Whilst this is certainly at a higher price point than the previous suggestions we've made - it is guaranteed to be a present your loved one will never forget - especially if they're an avid wine-drinker!

£195

Burgh Island London Dry Gin

North Point Distillery's recent collaboration with the iconic Art Deco Hotel, Burgh Island, is another gin we recommend for the perfect Christmas present. Burgh Island London Dry Gin is a dry gin blended with seventeen different botanicals (including Rosa Rugosa and Gorse that both stemmed from Burgh Island), and has a congenial citrus base. Another key focal point of the gin is the sustainable production and distribution by both North Point Distillery and Burgh Island Hotel. Using energy from wind farms, North Point Distillery committed to creating this gin with a minimum impact on the local environment, and the gin itself was contained in bottles made from recycled glass, with the corks and labels coming from environmentally conscious partners with carbon-free certifications. So, this gift would be perfect for any eco-conscious, planet-loving individual you know!

Gwalarn, Celtic Whisky Blend

The Celtic Whisky Distillerie has developed its first ever blend, combining two whiskies of Celtic origin. Bearing a Breton name that evokes its character, Gwalarn means “North-West Wind”, the French distillery in Côtes-d’Armor brings a breath of fresh air to the world of blended whiskies. Gwalarn is a striking whisky in its balance and complexity, with energetic notes of cereals, fruit and vanilla; the peaty and salty background is reminiscent of Kornog - full and even. The complexity and balance distinguish Gwalarn from the best premium blended whiskies, thus gifting a bottle of this to any friend who appreciates a good glass of whisky is most definitely the perfect Christmas present!

£33.75

Whisky Appreciation Chair

And finally, for any avid-whisky drinker a whisky appreciation chair is a necessary gift! The only way to enjoy a good whisky is to be encased by American walnut - brass feet help greatly too. The House of Finn Juhl have newly relaunched a collection of Whisky Chairs (originally designed back in 1948), to complement the perfect glass of whisky. Whilst many may perceive the chair as too extravagant, this truly is a one-in-a-kind Christmas gift that any whisky-lover will never forget!
