Hand-crafted, luxury experiences curated by our team—speak to our concierge to learn more

There’s something to be said about a hotel that serves as a cornerstone of its local community.

Standing tall on Chesham Place, lush foliage and striking navy and gold signage set The Hari apart from the Georgian terraces that make up most of Belgravia. A member of PoB Hotels, The Hari opened in 2016 as a luxury boutique hotel catering to both Londoners seeking an indulgent staycation and tourists wanting a hideaway with convenient access to the likes of Harrods, Hyde Park, and Buckingham Palace.

Art for Good

Art for Good plays an immense role in The Hari’s ethos. The hotel recently welcomed two leading innovators to reinvigorate the guest experience with 2023 Hospitality Designs Designer of the Year Tara Bernerd brought in to lead a large renovation of their guest rooms. In line with the hotel’s commitment to sustainability, the project focussed on reimagining and reinventing versus replacing, and the results include lightened wooden floors and window banquettes recovered in a honey-caramel velvet. Additionally, in late November the team hosted their annual Art Prize celebrations where Libby Bove was announced as the winner of the £10,000 cash prize. Created in collaboration with A Space for Art to support young artists, the programme aims to support early careers in the art world while giving guests some beautiful pieces to admire in the hotel lobby.

A well-deserved reward for a thoughtful pooch

Our staycation at The Hari this autumn was for a very special occasion—our rescue dog Sven had been working hard this year as a volunteer for The Mayhew’s TheraPaws programme where he visits a nearby nursing home to bring some joy to the residents. With The Hari being a pet-friendly property, we thought it would be the perfect occasion to give Sven a taste of the suite life.

Pets are allowed in all parts of the hotel, bar the Italian fine dining restaurant, Il Pampero. This wasn’t a problem for us as we had dinner booked at The Garden Terrace, where Sven was given a bowl of water while we enjoyed a juicy trio of sliders and truffle fries with shaved parmesan. Sven also received lots of lovely treats from the pet-loving staff. Chris in particular had greeted us at the door when we first arrived and gave Sven lots of cuddles and pets every time he saw us.

Living the suite life

Our 44 sqm studio suite featured a king-size bed, dressed in custom linens, down comforters, and plush pillows for ultimate comfort. As we entered the suite, Sven sauntered up to the open-plan sitting area where a plate of macarons waited for us, accompanied by a bottle of Moët & Chandon. Sven was welcomed with an impressive homemade bone-shaped dog treat, which he eagerly devoured. One of my favourite spots in the sitting room was the spacious bay window, set behind a cosy pull-out bed—that doubled as Sven’s lounging spot during our stay—offering stunning views of the autumn leaves on the tree-lined Belgravia street below. Another room highlight was the Arabescato marble bathroom with a walk-in rain shower and tub with a view.
The next time you’re looking for a staycation in one of London’s top neighbourhoods where your furry friend is just as welcome, The Hari is the perfect pick for both cosmopolitan travellers and their pooches.
