The Chelsea Arts Festival returns for its second year with a creative partnership with the British Fashion Council. Across four days, visitors can soak up an array of artists, performers, and creative visionaries from all disciplines. Highlights include Susie Cave and Bella Freud in Conversation, Sense and Sensibility: Cast & Creators in Conversation, Jane Ashley’s Punk Archive, and Art Into Fashion: Canvas to Catwalk.
Calling all fashion mavens! Iconic brands GANNI and Hunter have joined forces for the first time in a new weather-ready collaboration. The inspired collection includes three waterproof ponchos in leopard print, canary yellow and khaki, matching rain hats, Wellington boots, and a leopard print umbrella. It’s bold, playful, and oozing with Scandi cool.
Notting Hill has acquired a new Japanese townhouse restaurant from the team behind Michelin-starred Dorian, EEL Sushi, Supermarket of Dreams and the Notting Hill Fish+Meat Shop. Dubbed NAKIMUSHI, the three-storey spot from Chef Yuji Shimokawa Kelly and Chef Robin Kosuge serves up warming bowls of Tokyo-style ramen alongside snacks and cold stairs. A bar and a 25-seat restaurant dedicated to contemporary Japanese cooking sits on the floor above.
Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is bringing a slice of Mexico to abc kitchens until the end of September with the launch of tacos de tarde. Between 2.30pm and 6.30pm, guests can feast on elevated bites including the bbq pork taco with red onion, and the crispy dover sole taco with aioli, crunchy cabbage and apple slaw. To complement the zingy flavours, Vongerichten has also devised a mini cocktail flight featuring a grapefruit paloma, a basil jalapeño margarita, and a frozen strawberry margarita.
Yearning for smooth, radiant skin? Dr. Barbara Sturm has launched a new and enhanced version of her iconic Super Anti-Aging Serum designed to restore firmness, smoothness, and radiance. The multi-active formula is supercharged with potent ingredients including next-generation bioactives, intelligent antioxidants, and NAD+-supporting ingredients such as Superoxide Dismutase, Sunflower Sprout Extract, and Biofermented Purslane. £290 for 30ml.
On 26 September, Bar Kroketa at Broadgate Circle is launching a one-day Basque bar crawl featuring an array of pop-up ‘bar stops’. Each stop will serve up something different, including txakoli (a lightly effervescent white wine) poured from a height, natural Basque cider, Rioja, and a plethora of pinxtos, croquetas, music and entertainment. Tickets are free and include a welcome cider. From 12 pm until 8 pm.
London-based womenswear label DEBUTE has unveiled its latest ‘Girl on the Go’ collection replete with ultra-feminine silhouettes, whimsical lace, satin jacquards, and polka-dot prints. The Autumn/Winter drop features three standout dresses designed to make transitioning from day to night that bit easier. We’re still swooning over the polka dot Alexa Dress complete with a rich, raspberry-hued lace neckline.
In honour of Negroni Week (21-27 September), ROKA is joining forces with Peddlers Gin and Karminia Vermouth for a special collaborative Negroni. ROKA Charlotte Street Shochu Lounge is going the extra mile with a bespoke menu featuring three Negronis, including a special Japanese-inspired take on the classic cocktail. All Negronis will be £10.
Sushi Kaesaka has announced the next two one-night-only omakase dinners in its Michelin Series. On 16 September, the Mayfair restaurant will welcome British chef Tom Aikens of MUSE, while Austrian chef Bernhard Zimmerl of ZIMMERL will take to the floor at a later date in October. The first event will see Aikens team up with chef Hirotaka Wada to create a bespoke menu that “pairs Tom's contemporary British perspective with the precision and traditions of Edomae sushi.”
Hospitality entrepreneur and Barworks founder Marc Francis-Baum has breathed new life into a classic Clerkenwell Pub. Formerly known as The Peasant, Francis-Baum’s reimagined George & Dragon combines two experiences: a neighbourhood local downstairs, and a surf and turf concept located upstairs. Guests can expect to feast on pub classics such as scotch eggs, alongside the likes of lamb belly and clam skewers, and steak and lobster pie.
Italian restaurant Sale e Pepe is also embracing Negroni week with a collection of five Negronis served throughout the week at its Knightsbridge outpost in addition to its new sister restaurant, Sale e Pepe Mare at The Langham. Concocted by Bar Director Pietro Collina, the menu will feature the classic cocktail alongside more playful creations including The Messina Negroni, and the Trieste Negroni which features tobacco liqueur and cold drip coffee.
Mexican-Japanese restaurant Los Mochis London city has expanded its offering with CIELO, a Sunday brunch concept inspired by sunny Saint-Tropez, Monaco, and beach clubs in Mykonos and Dubai. Packages, which start at £90 per person, include live sushi and ceviche stations, caviar and robata offerings, and decadent desserts such as a dulce de leche fountain with churros. Beyond this, Los Mochis will elevate the experience with a weekly Trunk Show concept, bringing together a range of luxury brands across fashion, beauty, jewellery and more.
Every Saturday in September, Bromley-based Sri Lankan restaurant, Copper Ceylon, is offering a themed afternoon tea experience spotlighting authentic island flavours, premium Ceylon tea, and unlimited cocktails served from teapots. Guests can opt for the classic tea option (£25) or upgrade to the premium (£35 pp) for bottomless prosecco or unlimited cocktails including the Ceylon Old Fashioned and the Trinco Tiki whipped up with arrack, pineapple juice, passion fruit syrup, falernum syrup and punchy lemon juice. Teatime treats include coconut sambol & cheese sandwiches, jaffna mutton rolls, and jackfruit cutlets.
ALBA London has launched a ten-seat omakase counter experience with two chef-curated tasting menus structured around seasonal produce. Led by Japanese Head Chef Takuya Kaneko, dishes include hokkaido uni, bluefin otoro, and Kristal and Beluga caviar. For a theatrical flourish, nigiri, sashimi, and small raw courses are served directly across the counter.
Following the success of its launch at Arcade in Covent Garden, smash burger concept Manna has opened its first-ever standalone site in the heart of Marylebone. Alongside classic burgers and waffle fries, menu items also include The Trifle and The Cola Float in classic, chocolate and cherry.
Upscale French restaurant La Petite Maison has unveiled its latest concept - a Riviera-inspired café called Le Café LPM. A year-long residency at The Lanesborough, this new opening distils the charm and glamour of the French Riviera into an all-day cafe menu. Think rich coffee, flaky pastries, small plates, and inspired aperitivi such as The Tomato & Olive Oil Sour, the Fig Leaf Negroni, and La Pêche Fizz.
On 25 September and 2 October, modern Indian barbecue restaurant Brigadiers will undergo a transformation, turning into a Bavarian-inspired Bier Hall decked out with long communal tables, live oompah music, and a Paulaner pop-up serving steins alongside Brigadiers’ beer towers. On the food front, the much-loved spot will serve up a special Deutsche Daru menu throughout Oktoberfest, with highlights including chilli-wurst tikki pao, masala currywurst kathi roll, and apple jalebi with cinnamon rabri.
