The five-star resort opened its doors in the summer of 2025. From next-level dining and relaxed interiors to transformative wellness rituals, this Mallorcan resort ticks plenty of boxes.
A new addition to the Purobeach beach club portfolio, Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa is a sophisticated destination where wellness, elevated gastronomy and luxury intersect. Think undercurrents of mature beach club energy interlaced with a generous helping of quiet luxury. This is coastal chic at its most intentional.
Coveted Location
Arriving at the resort - 30 minutes from Palma de Mallorca International Airport - is like stepping into a sun-drenched frame where the vibrant sky and sea are constantly jostling for attention. Nestled in the southwest of Mallorca, the town of Santa Ponsa is a coveted spot renowned for its unblemished beaches (Platja de Santa Ponça is a mere ten-minute walk away), crystalline waters and mountainous backdrop.
The resort’s proximity to the shoreline is one of its biggest draws. Here, the breezy, beachy lifestyle is woven into every detail including the culinary offering, the interiors and the top-tier facilities.
Breezy Interiors
Quiet luxury dominates at Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa. The ambience throughout is quintessentially Mediterranean with nods to the white sandy beaches, surrounding craggy landscape and tranquil waters. Each of the 160 rooms and suites feel capacious yet cosy, offering guests a space to unwind and relax.
Rattan details mesh seamlessly with splashes of emerald-green and azure-blue, while natural wood and stone slabs add an extra dimension. For an added dose of five-star luxury, ambient lighting ensures the space feels warm and welcoming, while private terraces invite moments of unhurried bliss.
The bathrooms are separated from the bedroom via an inspired division crafted from wooden slats. It lends the space a fluid, transformative quality, introducing an unexpected sense of depth and dimension. Elsewhere, rainfall showers take centre stage alongside chunky sinks, honeyed stone and minimalistic fittings.
Top-tier Dining
Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa boasts four restaurants and bars, providing guests with a plethora of options to suit every craving. At the heart of the resort is the ONA à la carte restaurant complete with panoramic sea views and a thoughtful menu spotlighting Mallorcan fare alongside global flavours. Think seared scallops, linguine with fresh clams and monkfish, grilled lobster, slow-cooked lamb stew and juicy king crab served in a rich bisque.
The MANTRA buffet restaurant is a go-to for relaxed breakfasts and dinners. Expect transportative dishes, live cooking stations and bold flavours from across the globe including Japan, Peru, Mexico, Italy and the Middle East.
At Purobeach, international cuisine is the order of the day. Whether you’re craving a fresh platter of ceviche, nachos, salmon poke or sirloin steak, the menu is chock-full of crowd pleasers crafted with an elegant edge. Elsewhere, Purobeach Cafe serves up platefuls of energising dishes centred around mindfulness and wellbeing. Notable items on the menu include toast topped with soy and citrus marinated salmon, baked eggs with creamy yolk and chistorra sausages, and pancake soufflé with whipped cream, strawberries and Malloracan honey.
Wellness Rituals
Wellbeing is a key component of Purobeach’s concept. Each resort has been carefully designed with a number of wellness features that go above and beyond the typical luxury resort. At its Santa Ponsa outpost, two exclusive pools, including one that’s adults-only, act as a main focal point. Here Balinese sunbeds inject a touch of refined indulgence, while sun-dappled palms and a blissful coastal vista create a feeling of total immersion.
This coastal bliss also infuses Purobeach's nearby beach club in Illetas. A 20-minute drive away, the club boasts direct access to the sparkling Mediterranean sea and provides the perfect backdrop for a languid afternoon in the balmy sunshine.
For guests looking to enjoy an elevated level of pampering, the resort also boasts a dedicated wellness area complete with a sauna and steam room, as well as a menu of nature-inspired treatments and massages. Sensory experiences include a special three-day anti-stress programme, the ultimate oasis experience, and the ‘Island Glow’ seven-day programme. During my stay I was treated to a mollifying aloe vera 'repair' massage that did well to soothe the muscles and instil a sense of calm.
This is the essence of Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa: an invitation to indulge in slow living where restorative rituals, soul-nourishing cuisine, and beachside elegance reign supreme.
