Peter Lloyd’s New Restaurant
Hand-crafted, luxury experiences curated by our team—speak to our concierge to learn more
Speak to Our ConciergeWith a love of Asian food, I was particularly excited to visit Chef Peter Lloyd’s new restaurant in London South Bank, named Sticky Mango after his favourite Asian dessert. I met Peter a few years ago and was then lucky enough to be invited to his former culinary home, Spice Market. His new restaurant, a partnership between himself and wine connoisseur Nigel Wilkinson, is much more intimate. Spread over three floors it offers diners a chance to experience the feel and taste of Asia in a much more private and intimate setting.

Review of Galvin at The Athenaeum - A Modern Take on Beloved...
Both brothers are Michelin-star recipients in their own right, and have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Antony Worrall Thompson, Sir Terence Conran and Nico Ladenis. The restaurant itself is located off the new-look double-height lobby of the Athenaeum hotel, which is far from a traditional hotel lobby and provides guests with more of a retro lounge feel. Upon arrival, we walked through from the bar and were guided to our white marble table – a particularly millennial touch. Seating 94 guests, it’s a relaxed, comfortable space with an elaborate central chandelier, dark wood tables and a neat display of Galvin cookbooks. After making ourselves comfortable and of course instagramming the beautiful bouquet arrangements in the centre of the restaurant, we were given a welcome glass of champagne to peruse the extensive menu with. After much deliberation, I settled on the Dedham vale beef steak tartare to start, which came beautifully seasoned with a raw yolk as the cherry on top, while my companion had the crab and lobster linguini as a small portion which was mouthwateringly delicious and served with the perfect amount of chilli in each mouthful.
Featuring Capri – The Sybarite’s guide to the Emerald Isle
Glittering azure waves lap up to the harbour, filled with adorable Italian boats and vintage Riva’s, to the multi-coloured houses of the seaside town. As loud and busy as it is due to day-tripper tourists, honeymooning couples and the very well-travelled, nothing can quite compare to the moment you step off the hydro-foil from Naples to the shores of this fantastic emerald isle. If you’re staying at one of the luxurious five-star hotels on the island, which are highly recommended, you will be greeted by a representative, recognisable by the hotel name printed on their captain’s cap. After taking care of your luggage, they will show you to a shuttle or taxi, (not just any taxi, a vintage open-top limousine nonetheless) to take you to the Island’s main square, the Piazzetta Umberto. From there, you’re left to explore the tiny side streets filled with designer boutiques and al fresco restaurants in the sunshine, walking the pavements lined with vintage tiles.
Review of Chokhi Dhani London - Colourful Cuisine Meets Stylish...
Already an established and successful chain across India, London’s Chokhi Dhani marks the first overseas opening for the group, and is the brainchild of Kriti Vaswani, a young hotelier, chef and entrepreneur whose father, Gul Vaswani, launched the enterprise. With a five star village themed resort in Jaipur and various other locations across the country, Chokhi Dhani aims to celebrate and share Rajasthani culture and cuisine. Recently opening their newest venture in Battersea, the Vaswani's are treating South London to its own unique, immersive Rajasthani cuisine with subtle French influences.
Featuring Country escapes: Exploring Lord Beaverbrook’s estate
The private cinema room where Lord Beaverbrook & Winston Churchill watched news from the front line, Churchill’s suite and bathtub where he would dictate to his secretary, or the bedrooms aptly named after their famous guests such as Elizabeth Taylor and Rudyard Kipling, each designed with the hosts personality in mind. Winston Churchill was once quoted saying that of Lord Beaverbrook; "Some people take drugs, I take Max.” Tales of debauchery (some of the rooms include a double shower), respite (the beds alone are a haven of comfort) and political agendas can be felt throughout the chateau-like estate, but only two out of three are to be had by it’s guests today. Hint – it’s not political. Today, Beaverbrook harnesses the energy and charm of its heritage and blends it with beautifully designed spaces and places in which to dine, unwind, rejuvenate and indulge.

Featuring Roman luxury | discover ancient origins within a...
It was my first time in the city (can you tell?), and beyond my girlish squeals of glee and excitement driving through the beautiful city at night, we stopped just in front of the Colosseum at the Palazzo Manfredi, where later we spent two wonderful evenings. This charming 17th century palace was built metres away from the Colosseum and a training school for gladiators of ancient Rome. The beautiful building of the Palazzo Manfredi began life in the 17th century as the villa of the Evangelisti family, designed by architect Giovanni Battista Mola. It then passed to the Venerabile Confraternita della Ss Trinità dei Pellegrini e dei Convalescenti (Venerable Fraternity of the Holy Trinity of Pilgrims and Convalescents), as commemorated by the two stones on the façade. In 2002, the villa was purchased by Count Goffredo Manfredi, one of Italy’s most famous entrepreneurs and construction magnates, and thanks to him, Palazzo Manfredi, our superb luxury hotel, was born.
