About This Experience
The LACMA Art + Film Gala is an annual formal fundraising event organised by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, with proceeds funding LACMA's broader mission through the museum's curatorial programming, educational programming, acquisitions, screenings, and other major initiatives. In 2026, it marks the fifteenth annual edition, raising millions and in past years generating up to $6.5 million while underwriting LACMA's initiative to make film more central to its art-and-film work. Co-chaired by LACMA trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, the evening is backed by Gucci, a longstanding supporter of the gala.
Each year, the gala honours one artist and one filmmaker for defining contributions to their fields. The 2025 gala was held on November 1, 2025, and honoured Mary Corse and Ryan Coogler. The gathering takes place on the museum's historic campus, bringing together global figures from fashion, cinema, and fine art beneath iconic public installations like Chris Burden’s Urban Light.
