About This Experience
The Laver Cup is a three-day battle, with both singles and doubles played across the weekend. Under its back-weighted format across 12 matches, each Friday match win is worth one point, and the first team to 13 points claims the title. It is a modern classic, celebrated for its unique atmosphere, its custom-built charcoal-black court, and the close camaraderie of the sport’s biggest names, inspired by golf’s Ryder Cup and co-founded by Roger Federer to honour Rod Laver.
The event does not award ATP ranking points, so participants compete for prize money and team pride. If the sides are tied at 12 points, a decider is played as a regular set with ad scoring and a tiebreak if needed. Matches use best-of-three sets, with a 10-point tiebreak in place of a third set. The field is chosen through a mix of automatic qualifiers, not simply the highest ranked players, and captain’s picks. Team captains oversee player selection, match preparation, and lead the sides during play, and every player must appear in at least one singles match.
The ninth edition is scheduled for London in September 2026. Attending is a chance to see leading men's tennis players in an unparalleled team environment.
