About This Open Championship Experience
The United States Open Championship is the national championship organised by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and one of the premier USGA championships. The 2027 edition will host the field at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California, a renowned country club setting that opened in 1919 and has hosted multiple U.S. Opens over the years. Pebble Beach made history in 1972 as the first public course to host the U.S. Open, and at the same time the USGA later named it an anchor site for future major championships. The tournament features a full field of 156 players competing over 72 holes of stroke play, with a rigorous cut implemented after the initial 36 holes.
The USGA configures the course to emphasise complete accuracy off the tee, strategic ball-striking, and exceptional short-game control on Pebble Beach’s fast greens and tight fairways. Winners receive exemptions and other privileges that save time in qualifying for future events, while fans can follow broad coverage and book Official Ticket Packages that include event tickets and hospitality access, all-inclusive food and beverage service, VIP seating, behind-the-scenes tours, and premium hospitality venues with gourmet cuisine and premium beverages.
