About This Experience
The Grand Prix brings together the sport's elite drivers and engineers for a high-stakes competition. The race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, named after Mexican racing heroes Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez, is distinguished by sitting 2,240 meters above sea level, where the thin air creates unique aerodynamic challenges for each car and team.
The first Mexican Grand Prix was held on 4 November 1962 as a non championship event, and the following year it joined the Formula One World Championship; the race was staged at the Magdalena Mixhuca circuit until 1970. It was absent from the calendar from 1993 to 2014, before Nico Rosberg won on its historic return in 2015. Pedro Rodríguez also remains central to the event’s legacy as a beloved local star closely associated with the race’s history.
The circuit measures 4.304 km with a race distance of 71 laps. While the track was redesigned for safety before the 1986 Grand Prix, the revamp effectively cut the Peraltada in half and introduced the iconic Estadio/Foro Sol section. Drivers now dive directly through this packed, old baseball stadium structure, capturing the spectacular energy of the crowd before exiting onto the final straight.
This experience is perfectly suited for those wishing to pair the thrill of world-class racing with a wider luxury itinerary, exploring historic sites, premier cultural venues, and fine dining.
