About This Gran Premio de España Experience
The F1 Madrid Grand Prix marks the debut of a brand-new semi-permanent street circuit, with plans for development around the IFEMA exhibition centre and Valdebebas district in the Spanish capital targeting its first race year in 2026. Spanning over five kilometres, the circuit combines permanent racing facilities with dynamic sections on public roads, presenting a technical matrix of twenty corners and an estimated lap time of under one minute and thirty seconds.
The design is taking shape around IFEMA and Valdebebas, with a specialised tunnelled section and high-speed straightaways calculated to encourage overtaking manoeuvres, creating a fresh engineering challenge for teams adjusting to an entirely new asphalt profile. Designed with a focus on modern race sustainability and high fan accessibility, while acknowledging wider concerns, the venue is intended to improve delivery and visitor experience across the event. Support races are also expected across the weekend.
