About This Experience
The Hungarian Grand Prix is a round of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship staged at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, located near Budapest, 20 km from the city. Trains from Budapest to Mogyoród typically take 25–30 minutes, driving takes around 30–40 minutes, and buses 320 and 321 run from Örs vezér tere, where visitors can transfer or catch local onward transport. Cycling from Budapest to the circuit usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours, so check official information and travel updates before departure. First held in 1986, the event made history as the initial Formula 1 race to take place behind the former Iron Curtain. The Hungaroring is a technical racetrack often called “Monaco without walls,” and its layout demands high down-force and chassis agility, with overtaking historically difficult on the narrow racing surface. The weekend schedule starts Friday and Saturday with free practice and qualifying on July 24 and 25.
