Review of QT presents the green room – a glamorous jazz-infused...

So when I was invited to QT presents The Green Room, I got my favourite girlies together, and with our dancing shoes on we headed to Covent Garden.  QT presents The Green Room is a secret hideaway which can be found beneath the creamy façade of the elegant luxury hotel Middle Eight. Unless you are in the know, you wouldn’t know it was there - it took us a moment as we stood out in the rain wondering where this gorgeous bar was hiding. As we entered the hotel, we were greeted and taken downstairs to The QT bar. The space is exceptional, with cool modern décor including concrete pillars, a parquet wood floor, large contemporary circular ceiling lights and cabaret-style seating with marble-topped tables and velvet cocktail chairs.

Review of The art of Banksy: Unauthorised private collection at 50...

“The Art Of Banksy: Unauthorised Private Collection” is the finest and largest privately-owned exhibition of artwork from the controversial British “street art” artist, Banksy. A full immersion into Banksy’s mysterious universe with more than 70 pieces executed with different techniques: oil, acrylic on canvas, stencils, videos and photographs... giving you a real taste of the “internationally known, identity unknown” artist. Banksy himself has given no acknowledgement or authorisation of this collection in any way and none of his pieces have been taken from the street. The right place to discover one of the most admired and recognized artists among art lovers and younger generations. Step in, take a look inside and get ready to be welcomed by darkness. An enveloping multimedia installation has been created entirely just for you revealing and highlighting Banksy’s most iconic pieces. His illegal artworks produced on the street address universal themes such as politics, culture or ethics challenging the rules of the contemporary art game.

Featuring Expert astrologer Susan Levitt on your fortune – metal...

2020 as we all know has been a rough ride and although 2021 seems like a continuation of all the chaos that's been going on, we're hopeful that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Different from Western astrology, Chinese astrology takes a look at the year in which you were born which is matched to a particular animal from the Chinese zodiac. It offers pieces of advice and sometimes words of caution or things to avoid and look out for in that given year. If you are new to this, we highly recommend having a read at your own Chinese zodiac and understanding your characteristics and qualities which can be very interesting. You might even be surprised at what you'll find out. Or better yet, have a more intuitive reading and forecast of your present and future through a private session with Susan who will also be able to answer your burning questions. For those interested in finding out what the Year of the Ox brings, have a look below and in case you're unsure of which animal you belong to simply scroll down below to see what year you were born in under that particular animal.

February 2, 2021 (Accra, Ghana) - ADA \ contemporary art gallery, specialized in the work of emerging artists across Africa and its diaspora, unveils Enter Paradise, an exhibition of new paintings by South African emerging female artist Zandile Tshabalala (b. 1999, Soweto). Marking the artist’s debut solo career, and the gallery’s third consecutive debut solo show since opening in October 2020, the new paintings include a selection of figurative self-portraits in which Tshabalala revisits the representation of the Black female figure. Presented at ADA’s Accra- based gallery space and online, the exhibition will be on view from February 25 to April 18, 2021.  Currently completing her (BA) FINA from the University of the Witwatersrand, SA, Tshabalala creates a distinct visual narrative and artistic expression by challenging and deconstructing art historical canons of representation – recurrent motives which often marginalize and obliterate the Black female figure.

Lapland UK - The Roll Royce of Christmas Experiences

Since having my little boy and girl, this special time of the year has been given an extra special sprinkling of magic dust and the sparkle and excitement in their eyes melts my heart.  Having watched as my little boy’s wonder of Christmas grew when we visited Lapland UK last year, I wished upon a star that we would get an invitation from the big man himself again this year.

My London Fashion Week - VanillaOnTop

"A week full of inspiration and breathtaking designs; bloggers, press, designers ,as well as clients from all over the world, come to see the new Autumn/Winter 2019 collections at the two London Fashion Weeks held each year. Me and my sister Tiia Camilla Pötry, also known as my manager, had the honour to attend several fashion shows and presentations including the Junne, Kalissi, and Magpies & Peacocks shows. Magpies & Peacocks showed their new collection created from upcycled textiles. It was truly inspiring and interesting to see the perfect hand prints featured in every design. Kalissi took us into a different world; such a colourful and surreal show! It was high fashion with a brave twist and powerful statements. Many pastel shades, as well as different textures like tweed and silk, were surrounding us the entire evening. One of many astounding elements was the exceptional colourful headpieces worn on the catwalk. Hats and turbans made from silk or fur were crucial elements this year in many of the shows.

Featuring Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N - The perfect day out for Marvel fans

Last weekend we took our very excited little boy to London Excel, where Marvel have unveiled their latest interactive exhibition. After a brief video introduction and a security scan from Maria Hill, we were invited to enter the S.T.A.T.I.O.N, an advanced training facility for S.H.I.E.L.D’s ace team of agents. Zachary was rather overwhelmed when we first entered and he found himself face to face with the Hulkbuster! So when he got to don Iron Man’s Hulkbuster armour in a very cool and active VR experience he was super excited. As we moved through the rooms he enjoyed the great activities on offer, including various touchscreen games. Highlights for the family also included the massive moving image of Hulk and Captain America’s motorbike from the opening scene of Avengers: Age of Ultron which you could hop on and pretend to ride.

Christian Dior, Designer of Dreams

Across 11 theatrical sections, displays showcase the exquisite skill and craftsmanship of the Dior ateliers and the successive artistic directors of the house of Dior. Christian Dior’s admiration for British royalty and aristocracy is thoroughly explored; the house organised private shows for Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret, and the designer’s most notable clients included author Nancy Mitford and ballerina Margot Fonteyn. The stunning flower ceiling room displays Christian Dior’s love for florals and reflects his frequent visits to stately gardens and how this has dripped down through other creative directors of the house's works; creating their own vision of the brand but staying true to the ethos. Walking through to the final and most beautiful room of all; the couture lounge, projections are cast across the ceilings and walls, changing the space from an atelier’s Parisian townhouse to a renaissance mural, ending on a constellation as if visitors are transported through the stars among these divine creations.
