The Sybarite has rounded up some of the best places to indulge in a spot of sound healing, from hotel favourites to small studios. Read our comprehensive guide below.
London is a city of constant movement. Tubes and trains rattle until the early hours, bars and pubs pulsate with chatter and music, and there's a lingering hum that's almost impossible to escape. In short, tranquility is hard to come by. Perhaps as an antidote to London's endless buzz, a new crop of wellness spaces have started to emerge, including dedicated HYROX spaces, HIIT classes, hot yoga pods and outdoor saunas. In and amongst this newness, London has also embraced sound healing - the therapeutic use of sounds and vibrations to promote physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
From candleit lofts above busy Soho streets to glitzy Mayfair hotels, there's a sound healing spot to suit every need and moment. Keep reading to discover The Sybarite's top London picks.

What is Sound Healing and How Does it Work?
Sound healing isn't some new 21st-century invention. Cultures have long harnessed the powers of rhythm, chant, and tone for centuries. London has simply put its own spin on it.
Some people call it “meditation without effort.” That’s partly true. There’s no posture to hold and no breathing technique to master.
Today in London, it can look like:
- Crystal singing bowls glowing under dim lights
- Huge gongs in cavernous halls
- Tuning forks placed on the skin
- Sacred tones layered with bowls and chimes
Where to Experience the Best Sound Healing in London
Sound Bath at The Shala
The Shala has been part of South London’s wellness fabric for a long time, and its gong baths release the tension and replenish the mind and the body. Behind it is yogini and master sound practitioner Anne Malone, who leads most of the sessions. Her way of layering instruments is truly distinct. Guests can expect gong, Tibetan singing bowls, hang drum, shamanic drum, rainstick, vocal toning and mantra.
Address: The Shala, Third Floor, 537 Norwood Road, West Norwood, London SE27 9DL
(Entrance via 1 Chestnut Road, SE27 9EZ)
The British Academy of Sound Therapy
If there’s one place that gives sound healing a sense of structure in the UK, it’s the British Academy of Sound Therapy. Founded by Lyz Cooper, BAST opened its doors in 2000 and was the first sound therapy training centre in the United Kingdom. Rather than being a studio you book into for a casual gong bath, this is where the practice is given a framework backed by in-depth research and sound therapy. The association offers an array of training courses, all of which aim to improve the quality of life through sound therapy and energy healing.
Courses include Group Soundbath Relaxation Therapy and Holistic Voice Therapy Training.
Address: Head office in Monmouthshire, but practitioners trained here are active throughout the UK (many serve London clients via clinics, studios, online, or private bookings).
Soul Space
Soul Space feels more like stepping into someone’s sanctuary than walking into the average London studio. It's run by Selda Goodwin in South East London. The sessions are intimate, often built around the resonance of crystal alchemy bowls (something you won't find everywhere). The sound hangs in the air (clear, shimmering, and almost physical) while the rest of the work leans into energy healing and intuitive guidance, providing you with moments of total relaxation.
This isn’t the place for mass gatherings or impersonal workshops. It’s one-to-one or small group work, designed for people who want something that feels deeply personal.
Address: South East London (full address provided on booking).
Re:Mind Studio (Victoria)
Re:Mind doesn’t feel like a studio at all. More like you’ve stepped into someone’s lounge or living room. The kind of place where tea is always brewing and nobody hurries you out the door. Through breathwork, mindful practices, and sound therapy, you will find yourself healing and claiming peace. Group classes are small for a more intimate feel.
Guides (they call them 'calmers' here) prefer to offer intimacy, mixing bowls, gongs, and breathwork in ways that feel personal rather than performed. Beyond this, Re:Mind Studio also offers private classes, both one-on-one and for private groups.
Address: Re:Mind Studio, 25A Eccleston Place, Belgravia, London SW1W 9NF

                        Sahana Sound (Various Locations)
Sahana Sound has taken sound healing into some of London’s most refined spaces.
At the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, it begins the moment you step inside the spa. The corridors are quiet, the lighting muted, and by the time the first vibration rolls through the room, the body is already half unwound. Craving for an extra dose of clam? Guests can subsequently dip into the nearby sauna or refreshing pool. The combination feels deliberate: sound followed by water and vibration followed by blissful silence.
Mayfair brings a different character. The spa here feels modern and sleek with futuristic lighting and sleek interiors taking centre stage. Here, skilled therapists are on hand to create a personalised sound healing session to suit every need.
Then there’s The Spa at Four Seasons Park Lane. With stellar views stretching across London, the exclusive spa area is a holistic haven designed to impress. On its menu, it offers an array of experiences including bespoke sound healing treatments. The ultimate way to reset the mind, body, and spirit.
Each of these spaces bends the sound in its own way. Sahana’s practitioners carry the same care across them, but it’s the settings (Hyde Park’s calm corridors, Mayfair’s clean edges, Park Lane’s height and horizon) that shape how the vibration lands.
Addresses:
- Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, 66 Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7LA
- Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, 22 Hanover Square, London W1S 1JP
- Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, Hamilton Place, London W1J 7DR
Cloud Twelve (Notting Hill)
Cloud Twelve doesn’t feel like one of those cosy studios you drop into for a quick class. It’s a wellness and lifestyle club complete with a spa, a salon and a holistic wellness clinic. Located just off Notting Hill's bustling streets, Cloud Twelve offers sound therapy sessions with an experienced sound healer on a luxurious Dolomites Quartz treatment bed. You can book either a private one-on-one session lasting 60 minutes, or a couple's session, also lasting 60 minutes. For the ultimate experience, the wellness centre recommends kicking things off in the steam room, followed by sessions in the sauna, the cold plunge pool, and the salt room.
Address: Cloud Twelve, 2–5 Colville Mews, Notting Hill, London W11 2DA
True North Studio (Soho)
Soho isn’t known for stillness, but True North Studio on Carnaby Street is a little cocoon of quiet. The space is tucked into a top-floor loft, pared back and quiet, with only six mats laid out at a time. That small number shapes the experience: the sound doesn’t wash over a crowd, it settles into a room where every tone feels directed and intentional.
Sessions are guided by Nancy Trueman, who brings together alchemy crystal bowls, nickel gongs, and a steady, restorative pace. Breathwork and deep meditation often frame the sound. It’s intimate in a way that feels rare for central London, especially in a neighbourhood better known for its energy than its silence.
True North offers weekly and monthly sound healing classes. What's more, the studio is also available for exclusive buyouts and private bookings. Here, tranquility and connection are top of the agenda.
Address: True North Studio, Top Floor, 19B Beak Street, Soho, London W1F 9RP
The Mandrake Hotel (Fitzrovia)
The Mandrake has always leaned toward the unusual, and its Spiritual Wellbeing programme follows that lead. Sound healing sessions take place in atmospheric rooms or suites, with crystal bowls, Tibetan singing bowls and gongs to boot.
A “sound journey” here might be paired with Reiki, visualisation, or breathwork, depending on the expert guide. Guests often describe it as more than relaxation, something closer to a reset, the kind of experience that stays etched within.
While group sessions typically take place at the weekend, immersive sound journeys are also available mid-week. For a more personalised experience, the hotel also offers a Spiritual Concierge service.
Address: The Mandrake Hotel, 20–21 Newman Street, Fitzrovia, London W1T 1PG
Banya No.1 (Hoxton & Chiswick)
Banya No.1 isn’t the first place you’d expect to find sound healing. Known for its Russian-style thermal rituals, the spa facilities are all about extremes: heavy steam, ice-cold plunges, and the Parenie treatment where bundles of birch and oak leaves are pressed and waved through the air. But amongst its roster of treatments, Banya No.1 also offers 'The Sound Bath Ritual'. The immersive experience takes place in either the Blizzard Steam Room or, if part of the private spa experience, in the lounge area or steam room.
Expect the use of gongs, singing bowls to create soul-soothing sounds designed to reduce stress and re-balance the mind, body, and soul.
What makes Banya’s approach stand out is the way sound is folded into a ritual rather than standing alone. Here it’s not a class, it’s part of a rhythm: steam, sound, plunge, rest. For people who want their sound healing to be physical as well as meditative, the combination of bowls, steam, and ice delivers something few other places in London attempt. It's available as an add-on for either ten minutes or 15 minutes if part of a group (3-10 people).
Addresses:
- Banya No.1 Hoxton, 17 Micawber Street, London N1 7TB
- Banya No.1 Chiswick, 404–406 Chiswick High Road, London W4 5TF

Why Try Sound Healing in London?
London has a way of taking a tradition and recreating it so that it fits the large modern metropolis. What began as an ancient practice of bowls, gongs, meditation, and chanting has found a new rhythm here. It's found in holistic spas, secluded studios and opulent hotels in the heart of Mayfair. There truly is a version of sound healing to satisfy every need.
Part of the draw is contrast. In a city that never really slows down, these sessions create a pocket of stillness, and because London leans toward luxury when it comes to wellness, the sound often arrives with layers of comfort: blankets, herbal teas, heated loungers, or access to saunas and pools once the vibration fades.
It’s this unique combination (old instruments, modern spaces, and a city that seems to need the pause more than most) that makes sound healing here worth seeking out.
How to Choose the Right Sound Healing Experience
The instruments and sounds might feel familiar at multiple venues, but the setting makes a world of difference. A loft studio with six mats on the floor feels entirely different from a spa chamber where bowls are paired with steam and water rituals. Some people prefer the closeness of a small group, while others respond to the scale and theatre of a larger space.
Practitioners bring their own signature style. One might keep the session stripped back to bowls and silence, another might weave in voice and breathwork.
The length of the session is also worth taking into account. Ten minutes in the middle of a spa circuit might feel too rushed for some. A full hour, meanwhile, offers that deeper, more vivid experience where you're able to disconnect from the outside world. Thankfully, London offers so much variety that you won't struggle to find a session that suits your needs.
