Burns Night Bash
Commemorate Burns Night in style at Chop House & Tavern's outposts in Liverpool Street, Butler’s Wharf and Paternoster. From 21 to 25 January, diners can expect a traditional Scottish feast (£65 per person) with all the usual trimmings including haggis with neeps and tatties, and a dram of whisky. For an even more atmospheric evening, head to Butler’s Wharf for live bagpipes and a recital of Robert Burns’ Ode to a Haggis.
Kick off the year as you mean to go on with a decadent Champagne and oyster blowout at The River Restaurant by Gordon Ramsay. This season, the much-loved restaurant at The Savoy is offering a special Champagne-and-oysters pairing in partnership with Perrier-Jouët. For every glass of Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs ordered (£37 per glass), guests receive three complimentary Maldon oysters served with your choice of lemon or a classic mignonette. Yes please!
Pavyllon London (Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane) is set to launch the capital’s first-ever Michelin-starred breakfast tasting menu. From 10 January, guests can tuck into an array of dishes including a seasonal bakery creation from Executive Pastry Chef Francesco Mannino, spiced chai pudding with mango, a classic eggs royale, and French toast. A tea or coffee is also included with the breakfast tasting menu (£70 per person), with vegetarian and vegan options available.
Situated in Canary Wharf, sky-high dining spot Bōkan 37 is offering a five-course tasting menu plus amuse bouche for £59 per person (usually £79) Tuesday-Saturday from 15 to 31 January. Feast on seasonal dishes with a Modern European twist, from creamy burrata and dry-aged sirloin to seafood risotto and honey cake with elderflower ice cream. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available.
Inject some fun into January with one of Sky Garden’s free music nights running between Monday and Thursday from 5 to 29 January. Escape the chill and soak up exceptional music from live bands and DJs. The cherry on top? Sky Garden boasts some of the best 360° panoramic views across London’s skyline.
Old Street has welcomed a new cocktail bar dubbed The Prince. Honing in on everything Sharp, Strong and Social, The Prince is keen to restore London’s traditional hosting style alongside its menu of robust drinks and strong emphasis on camaraderie. Marvel at the emerald-green and gold interiors before indulging in classics including Martinis, Black Velvets, and punch.
Beloved British perfume brand Jo Malone London has concocted a fresh perfume for 2026. Inspired by the sun-baked fields surrounding Granada in southern Spain, this sensual scent combines juicy citrus notes with accords of labdanum, warm amber, creamy vanilla and roasted oak. A slice of sunshine to liven up this cold January spell. £116 for 50ml.
On the hunt for a drinks venue with an exciting twist? Brand new cocktail bar, Cato, is set to open in Covent Garden this January, offering guests a slice of New York City soul. Named after Cato Alexander (widely regarded as the world’s first celebrity bartender), the spot promises to spotlight innovative, ingredient-led cocktails across three different spaces: The House of Julep, the Basement (boasting a menu inspired by synesthesia), and the Study which houses a communal table for masterclasses, pop-ups and more.
Buckle up. The Newman hotel in Fitzrovia is set to welcome a double dose of delicious in early 2026. All-day dining destination Brasserie Angelica will offer classics with Northern European influences, while Gambit Bar (located underneath), will serve refined drinks crafted by The Newman’s Head of Food and Drink, Eder Neto. Events including regular chess nights will also be available.
1940s-themed cocktail bars Cahoots are embracing Dry January with an array of booze-free serves inspired by the British outdoors. Using Everleaf aperitifs and Seedlip spirits, they’ve cobbled together an innovative cocktail menu featuring the super citrussy The Clear-Headed Crop laced with yuzu soda, and The Orchard Pincher - an aromatic concoction bursting with basil, orgeat, lime, and Franklin & Sons Orchard Apple & Pear Soda.
Bakery hotspot PAUL is switching things up this January with a new ‘Vien of the Month’ (made even sweeter by the £2 price tag). They’re kicking things off with a fluffy Iced Brioche Bun topped with glossy, smooth fondant and a ruby-red glacé cherry. Available in store daily for £2 from 5 - 31 January at multiple locations across London, Reading and Oxford.
Following the success of its flagship bakery in Holborn, Fred Bakery has opened its second London site in buzzy Oxford Circus. Think artisanal bakes, scrumptious pastries, sandwiches, and drinks served in a beautifully minimalist space. Highlights on the menu include cinnamon rolls, apple crumble danish, and focaccia pizzas topped with stracciatella, artichoke and mortadella.
Following a glitzy facelift, Hampstead local The Stag will be reopening its doors on 22 January. The refurbished pub boasts an array of new features including a special floor reserved for house parties, a major garden glow-up, and a seasonally changing Martini menu. Feeling peckish? The Stag will also be offering all-day dining options, with highlights on the menu including a tear-and-share ‘Stag Bag’, rotisserie chicken dishes and the locally famous Stag chicken wings.
With January underway, there’s no better time to try out a new activity or hobby. Nestled in the New Forest National Park, Lime Wood Hotel is offering wholesome guided forest walks with their resident forager, Sammie Longhorn. Sammie will talk guests through the best wild plants to harvest, where to find them seasonally, and how to safely prepare them. Dates available between 22 January and 2 March 2026, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. From £65 per person.
