The Biggest Red Carpet Events to Look Out For in 2026

In the wake of the glittering Golden Globes and Grammys, join The Sybarite as we take a closer look at future red carpet events in the calendar for the remainder of 2026.

Back in January, a galaxy of stars descended upon The Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles for the 83rd annual Golden Globes. The toast of tinseltown donned their glad rags for a night of glamour and cinematic glory.

As ever, the red carpet provided plenty of memorable fashion moments, with the likes of Selena Gomez, Kate Hudson, Ayo Edeberi, and Jacob Elordi leading the sartorial pack.

While the Golden Globes are now firmly behind us, awards season is officially in full swing. From the BAFTAs to the SAG Awards, keep scrolling to discover which other red carpet events are worth keeping an eye on.

22 February: The BAFTAs

The British Academy Film Awards honours the best British and International film contributions each year. This year, the hotly anticipated event will take place on 22 February at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The full list of nominations was recently announced, with One Battle After Another storming ahead with a whopping 14 nominations. The action-thriller is closely followed by vampire drama Sinners (13 nominations), and Hamnet and Marty Supreme, each with 11 nominations. 

28 February: The BRITs 

For the first time in five decades, The BRITs will be relocating from the Big Smoke to Manchester on 28 February this year. Ahead of the musical extravaganza, nominees across 16 categories have been announced, with soulful singers Olivia Dean and Lola Young leading the pack with five nominations each. Receiving three nominations are the likes of Sam Fender, Lily Allen, Wolf Alice, Fred Again, Dave, Jim Legxacy. Elsewhere, British icons Pulp are up for their first award since 1996 in the Group of the Year category, while Hollywood star Cynthia Erivo received a nod in Song of the Year with her rendition of ‘Defying Gravity’ in Jon M. Chu’s Wicked

1 March: The Actor Awards

Previously branded the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards), the Actor Awards will stream live on 1 March this year via Netflix. Yet again, One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, has topped the nominations, receiving nods in seven categories, with DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro all up for awards. Elsewhere, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners received five nods, while Hamnet, Marty Supreme and Frankenstein each scooped three nominations. 

15 March: The Academy Awards

The Academy Awards, also known as The Oscars, will glide onto our screens on 15 March. The glittering ceremony will take place at The Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles and will be hosted by comedian and TV host, Conan O’Brien. Sinners and One Battle After Another have received the most nods, with Sinners becoming the most Oscar-nominated film of all time with a staggering 16 nominations across multiple categories. Meanwhile, Dune actor Timothee Chalamet has become the youngest actor to ever be nominated three times at The Academy Awards. Aside from Marty Supreme (his latest film), Chalamet also received nods for his roles in Call Me By Your Name and A Complete Unknown. 

4 May: The Met Gala 

Arguably one of the most exclusive annual fashion events, the Met Gala will make a stylish return this year on 4 May. The evening will celebrate the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Art spring exhibition, which focuses on the “centrality of the dressed body”. The dress code is usually announced several months after the theme is revealed, and is usually a nod to the overarching theme. The guestlist typically comprises major figures and tastemakers within the fashion, music, film, and sport worlds. Attendees in 2025 included Zendaya, Dua Lipa, Lewis Hamilton, Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, and Pamela Anderson. 

12-23 May: Cannes Film Festival 

The 79th edition of the Festival de Cannes will take place between 12 and 23 May. Regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious film events, the event’s origins can be traced back to 1938, with the first festival not actually taking place until 1946. Nominees for the festival are typically announced in mid-April. 

7 June: The Tony Awards

The Tony Awards is an annual awards ceremony highlighting excellence in Broadway productions. Awards are given for best play, best musical, best play revival, and best musical revival, and in categories such as acting, directing, music, choreography, set design, and costume design. The 2026 Tony Awards will take place in New York’s Radio City Music Hall, but nominations won’t be announced until 5 May. 

2-12 September: Venice Film Festival 

The 83rd Venice Film Festival will be taking place between 2 and 12 September on the Lido di Venezia. The aim of the festival is to ‘raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms of art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.’ Last year’s edition saw Jim Jarmusch take home the gong for the Golden Lion for his family comedy, Father Mother Sister Brother. 

14 September: The Emmy Awards

The 2026 Emmy Awards will reportedly air live on NBC from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles on 14 September. In 2025, The Pitt scooped five awards, including Outstanding Drama, Outstanding Supporting Actress for Katherine LaNasa and Outstanding Lead Actor for Noah Wyle.
