The estancia is considered one of the ‘must visit’ destinations in Argentina. People come from all over the world for a genuine estancia experience, or for the ultimate riding holiday.

Set in a secluded location in the Sierras Chicas, Los Potreros is just an hours transfer from Cordoba International airport. The estancia is set in buildings steeped with not only family history but references to the Jesuits, and guests are welcomed to join as part of the family.

The estancia is considered one of the ‘must visit’ destinations in Argentina. People come from all over the world for a genuine estancia experience, or for the ultimate riding holiday. No matter your age and background, whether you’re a couple, a solo traveller, or a family, guests arrive as strangers to Estancia Los Potreros and usually leave as friends.

Enjoy the best of Argentine food and wine with home-reared beef washed down with Malbec. The serenity and landscape lend themselves to those who enjoy painting, photography or writing, or simply curling up with a book, whilst good conversation and a gin and tonic are never far away.

The Sybarite and La Estancia Los Potreros are proud to offer The Sybarite members an exclusive experience for its members to discover and immerse themselves in the beautiful La Estancia and experience what this spectacular country has to offer.

Day 1

Arrive at Estancia Los Potreros and settle into your room. Enjoy lunch on the veranda and learn a little about the history of the estancia and Argentina.

After lunch find a spot in the garden to relax and soak up the peace and quiet or enjoy a guided walk across the hills to ‘The Bellstone’, which will have the geologists amongst you scratching your heads.

Tonight we eat under the stars, our chefs will light up the parrilla and serve you a host of delicious home produce - from various cuts of beef to chargrilled vegetables and fresh bread.

Day 2

Set out on a walk or drive to our cattle station and watch the gauchos go about their day-to-day life and witness them working with our award-winning herd of Aberdeen Angus.

Join the gauchos for an ‘asado’ under the shade of some trees and sample several different cuts of the estancia´s home-reared beef, before taking to the corrals to try your hand at lassoing! – discover your inner gaucho and learn how to lasso from one of the boys on the estancia. Lunch in the shade of the trees, cooked on a traditional 7 Fuego’s washed down with some of Argentinas finest wines and finished off with mate and pastelitos (flaky pastry stuffed with dulce de leche, or homemade quince paste).

The return journey is perfect for spotting some of our fabulous bird life especially the wonderful burrowing owls which will gaze at you curiously from the edge of their burrows. You may even spot our ever-growing number of Condors.

This evening, with a glass of wine in hand, join the chefs in the beautiful farmhouse kitchen and discover how to make some traditional Argentine dishes. Prepare the famous empanada, homemade breads and pastas before sitting down to a feast of Argentine regional dishes.

Day 3

After a full breakfast on the veranda of eggs and bacon cooked to order, enjoy a relaxed morning around the swimming pool, or play a spot of boules on the lawn.
If you´re feeling adventurous, take a guided walk or ride through the rolling hills to ´Las Tasas´ - a gorgeous natural swimming-hole where you can dive, swim or just take a snooze in the sun.

For those birding enthusiasts, guided and non-guided trail maps are always available.

This evening explore Argentine wines with an informal and fun wine-tasting. Discover some gems from a very wide variety of regional wines: Mendoza, Cafayate to the End of The World Patagonian wines to name just a few.

Day 4

This morning head out on the Peruvian Pasos, after a demonstration of their unique movement by our gauchos or enjoy a guided drive to ‘Potrero de Niz’, the house the Beggs originally built when they came to this area – and soak up some of the family and local history, with some of the original buildings dating back to the early part of the 17th century and the time of the Jesuits.

Lunch will be served on the veranda with exceptional views over the hills which first tempted the Begg family.

On the return home, ride up high and enjoy fabulous views over the sierras, before a final dinner under the stars.
