Ally pivoted from PR to bridal fashion after she struggled to find a dress for her big day that truly reflected her personal style. With a passion for all things bridal and a desire to fill a gap in the market, she went on to launch her independent brand, Clover London, in 2021. The brand specialises in 100% silk garments as well as more bespoke pieces laced with romance and whimsy.

Based in Copenhagen, M-KAE was founded in 2018 with a vision anchored in timeless design, quality, and personal style. In a landscape often defined by excess, she has chosen a more considered path, one shaped by softness, intention, and quiet confidence.

Best Quiet Luxury Brands for Understated, Stealth Wealth...

23rd April 2025

It is characterised by a meticulous focus on high-quality materials, expert craftsmanship, and timeless design. Unlike trends that come and go, quiet luxury brands prioritise quality over quantity, creating pieces that are meant to last. Their designs are often minimalist, featuring logo-free clothing that avoids loud logos and flashy branding. This approach to fashion is driven by a desire for subtlety and refinement, appealing to those who appreciate the finer details and the art of subtle luxury. This trend aligns with the concept of stealth wealth, where discreet luxury is reflected through high-quality, well-crafted clothing rather than bold branding. In essence, quiet luxury is about making a statement through simplicity and refined elegance rather than overt displays of wealth or status.

What To Wear: Coachella 2025

12th April 2024

As Coachella begins, it hails the start of festival season. If you are in a style conundrum, look no further than our considered festival dressing edit. Forgo sequins and face glitter in lieu of a more luxe approach. Think Jigsaw's fringed suede jacket that softly leans into the Western trend, to dial up the aesthetic pair with a Lack Of Color straw hat or Terry de Havilland's playful cowboy boots. A Rat & Boa maxi dress or Boteh palazzo trousers are infused with a hippie luxe feel, whilst Rhode's crochet two piece will work hard for your summer vacation wardrobe too. Signature accessories will instantly elevate every look, from Gucci Aviator sunglasses to a statement Brinka & Eliza necklace. Whilst Strathberry's bucket bag is the chicest way to carry your essentials.

Alexandra Wood, one of the few female tailors on Savile Row

22nd April 2021

The Sybarite speaks to Alexandra on how she got started in tailoring, what it's like working in a male dominated industry and her greatest accomplishments.  Tell us a bit about yourself - your background etc.  I worked in luxury retail, while studying Design and Professional Pattern cutting at The London College of Fashion. One of the places I worked for was Shanghai Tang, Sloane Square. Here I fell in love with Imperial tailoring, luxurious fabrics and the creativity of designing exclusive pieces and had the pleasure of designing for Royalty, celebrities and high profile women and eventually men. Two years later I was asked to join their bespoke department as their Tailoring assistant and within two days was promoted to the role of the Tailoring Manager at the age of 21.  I then moved on to opening my own business - Alexandra Wood in 2007, I’ve had the pleasure of designing suits for a whole host of high-profile men. I helped then politician Chuka Umunna land successive placings in GQ’s Top 50 Best Dressed list and being described by best-selling author and GQ journalist, Tony Parsons as the “tailor of the 21st century,” which was super exciting!

A new dawn for British Vogue

13th April 2017

"Edward is an exceptionally talented stylist who will no doubt bring an exciting new creative aesthetic to the magazine," said Alexandra Shulman, British Vogue's current editor. "Every Vogue editor arrives with their own range of talents and experience and Edward is very known, respected and liked within the fashion industry. I look forward to finding out his plans as soon as possible and working with him over the next few months of transition so that British Vogue continues to be the leading magazine in this market." In terms of diversity alone, Enninful’s appointment is a "surprise" that's most welcome. Indeed, on many levels, he will certainly strike a fresh contrast to the predominantly white middle-class women who work at the magazine today and appeared in Richard Macer’s BBC2 documentary last year.
