European Christmas Markets Luxe Tour: 5 Must-See...

There’s cold, and then there’s European Christmas market cold, the kind that nips at your fingers until the first sip of mulled wine hits. Christmas can feel different depending on where you are, but if you're seeking a quieter experience laced with luxury, you can usually count on European cities. In London, head to the likes of Mayfair and Covent Garden for glowing shopfronts, giant trees and the faint smell of roasted chestnuts and expensive perfume. Stragsboug, meanwhile, transforms into a winter wonderland with wooden huts and technicolour lights.

The Phoenicia Malta: Old Soul, New Standard

10th November 2025

Malta is a year-round destination, the kind of place that still feels sun-warmed even in November. When much of Europe is grey and shivering, Floriana glows at a steady 20-something degrees, its sandstone walls catching the light like honey. Against that backdrop, The Phoenicia Malta feels almost cinematic – timeless, sunlit, and entirely its own. Set beside the capital’s old gates, The Phoenicia Malta has been part of Malta’s story for nearly a century, welcoming everyone from officers and artists to royals and romantics. Yet it never feels trapped in its past. It’s proof that heritage and modernity can share a lobby without competing for attention. Some hotels lean on nostalgia; The Phoenicia Malta keeps redefining what timeless actually feels like.

Cambodia's New Dawn, 50 Years On From the Start of the...

6th November 2025

Nothing displays a country’s confidence in tourism quite like a state-of-the art new airport - especially when it’s been designed by one of the most admired and influential architects in the world.  In this case, the architects are Foster & Partners and the airport is in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh. With an emphasis on natural light, its soaring curves reference the country’s temples and palaces, while the steel lattice work is inspired by traditional basketweaving. Two years ago, Siem Reap - a popular tourist hub, thanks to its proximity to Angkor Wat - also benefited from a new airport, set at some distance from the city so as to minimise traffic pollution, potentially damaging to the temple complexes.

The Dalmatian island of Dugi Otok is a landscape of contrasts, where rugged coastlines and dramatic cliffs meet tranquil turquoise waters. Amid the luscious greenery stretches, there’s a hidden gem. Villa Nai 3.3 is built into the cliffside, camouflaged by its own colour palette. Driving up the winding path, there are around 1,000 olive trees set among the sprawling 40,000 sqm grove. These olive groves have existed for 500 years, but it wasn’t until 2021 that civil engineer Goran Morović reconceptualised the space as an agro-tourism destination.

4th November 2025

Tucked away in the honey-hued hills of Ibiza’s bucolic north, where citrus trees perfume the breeze and ancient olive groves whisper their age-old secrets, lies Atzaró Agroturismo Hotel, a place where time slows, senses awaken, and the soul exhales. It’s hard to believe such tranquillity lies just 25 minutes from Ibiza airport. Women Who Launch: Sophie Galvagnon of Selar

27th November 2024

The Arctic is objectively one of the most impressive places on earth. Awe-inspiring icy landscapes, magnificent wildlife and fascinating Indigenous groups are just a few of the area's selling points... and nobody understands its magic better than Sophie Galvagnon. The celebrated maritime explorer is on a mission to revolutionise the polar tourism industry. She, alongside two others, have founded expedition company Selar, which is currently building a close-to-zero-emission sailing vessel. Powered by sun and wind, five sails are covered in 20,000 solar panels, saving 90% CO2 compared to most cruise ships currently operating in the region. With expeditions set for Norway, Svalbard and Greenland in 2026, each destination offers something different. Their commonality is that they are all fragile ecosystems in need of preservation. With no set itineraries, Galvagnon describes each expedition as ‘experientially unique and sustainable’, with adventures wholly tailored to the whims of the natural environment. Below, we chat to Galvagnon about the inspiration behind Selar and her admirable mission to protect the corner of the world she loves so much.

Call Of The Wild — Luxury Safari In Botswana

13th November 2024

As the plane begins its descent over Chobe National Park, the view from the window is picture-perfect. The Okavango Delta stretches as far as the eye can see, winding and weaving its way through the marshland, its snakelike pattern is mesmerising. It's the closest thing to the Garden of Eden we can experience on earth. This region is the beating heart of Botswana and the lifeblood for an array of remarkable wildlife. Within its great expanse, elephants, hippos, giraffes and cheetahs roam freely. They put on a show unknowingly, offering visitors an all-access pass to their wild world. The flooded landscape of the Delta is truly special. Whether it be weaving through the reeds or kicking up dust on a dirt track, there is diversity day-to-day. With a focus on sustainability and eco-tourism, Botswana intentionally limits the number of visitors passing through, guaranteeing a level of exclusivity. Desert & Delta Safaris — the tour company founded in 1982 — is the only operator to consider when booking a Botswana safari. With a comprehensive property portfolio, travelling between camps is common and made possible via charter. The group’s integrated company, Safari Air, operates 12-seater aircrafts to carry guests between properties. Flying at low altitude, these lodge hops are a very scenic way to travel.

Autumn in the English Countryside’s Burleigh Court Manor

13th November 2022

On the onset of Autumn, all the leaves are aglow on the drive into historic Burleigh Court. The air is crisp with the promise of winter, and the hotel itself, covered in flaming Virginia creeper, looks like it’s been lit from within. The 18th-century Cotswold-stone manor house is set on a steep hill that provides sprawling views of the golden valley below. Enter and you’ll find a cosy two-seater bar to your left, with accents of deep wood and fur, where the sun streams in through a window onto a display of colourful bottles making it look like stained glass. Follow the sound of soft jazz from a record player, and you’ll arrive at the lounge, where the woodland themed wallpaper, comfortable sofas and copies of Tatler and The Field make for a chic reading spot. You could while away your time here reading, and forget that you were in the bustle of London just a few hours ago, but we recommend first exploring the lawns. The hotel is nestled in four acres of gardens, where you may see the Burleigh bees buzzing away in their beehives, grey oyster mushrooms growing off deadwood, and purple sage adding even more colour to the autumn surroundings.

The balance between a fun-filled, family holiday and a relaxing, luxury resort is often quite hard to find... but our luxury lifestyle expert, Kerene Barefield, has found the perfect, child-friendly place to whiz away to on the off-season! Having decided to treat the family to a little autumn sun, I booked five nights at Parga Beach Resort on the idyllic west coast of Greece - and I was not disappointed! After booking an early flight from London and dragging the kids out of bed at 3:45am; we arrived at Preveza airport by nine o’clock GMT. Greeted by our friendly chauffeur from the resort, he drove us along the beautiful coastline for a 45 minute journey to the hotel. On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Katerina and her team, and were shown promptly to our room. The extensive grounds of the hotel are stunning, all the rooms and suites are scattered between vibrantly blooming flora and centuries old olive trees. The smell of jasmine fills the air as we walk through the lush and plentiful grounds; it is hard to comprehend that there are over a hundred beautiful rooms hidden away in this captivating Greek resort

Villa Peduzzi – a secret waiting to be found

18th November 2019

Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it” said the quintessential children’s author Roald Dahl. At this under the radar retreat magic awaits. In the region of Como lies the small commune of Pigra, where a little-known luxury villa sits meters high above the lake commanding the most extraordinary of views that is second to none. One cannot even begin to measure the sheer beauty and magnificence of it for it is unlike any other property out there. Not only does this retreat take one’s breath away, it sends bewilderment through ones entire being any time you look out into the villa’s vicinity. It becomes quite surreal to imagine that this is what you can wake up to each morning – this panoramic heaven, completely uninterrupted, completely yours.

Own a private vineyard home and, if you choose, let...

3rd November 2015

Production plots start at 7,000 sq. m. and owners will have the freedom to control the use of their vineyards, whether producing their own wines guided by Casa de Uco’s experienced winemakers or renting out their vineyards for a yearly profit. What we find most appealing about Casa de Uco is that it offers wine connoisseurs the opportunity not only to own a private vineyard in one of the best regions for winemaking, but also to avail themselves of the resort’s expertise. Wine experts will be on hand to guide proprietors through the entire process – from harvesting young grapes to handling the business and profit-making side of things. Owning a Casa de Uco private villa is an idyllic experience: Nestled within the vineyard and surrounded by amazing vegetation and picturesque views of the Andes Mountain, the villa comes with round-the-clock concierge service, offering hotel-like hospitality. Some might consider this a fine way to retire.
